Product of Saint Louis USA (really?) and it shows. Pours to a pale gold color and 3/4 inch head that falls to a 1/8 inch layer of foam. Lacing is low to none. Aroma is faint and grainy with a hint of played out noble hops. Flavor is bland and boozy with a cheap beer taste you wouldn't even expect from Becks. Grainy, slightly bready and sweet with a dry, slick finish. Mouthfeel is OK. Overall, a disappointing beer that goes along with the Bud Platinum trend. Never again.

A-Straw yellow with a two finger fizzy white head, that dissipates immediately. No lacing or cascading.

S-very faint nose consisting of cereals, malts, and alcohol sweetness

T-very malty, a boozy sweetness, and carbonated water. No real hop presence. It tastes like an American macro lager, not a German Pilsener as there is no bitter hop bite as other versions of the style.

M-Thin, yet soft and semi-creamy

D-One could drink a few of them if they desired but I don't think I will ever drink this again.

Overall, regular Beck's is much better than this because it actually has flavor. This beer is seriously lacking the flavor department which is very disappointing. I'm glad I only purchased a single.

Saw this in the grocery store and thought I'd give it a try. Unlike a lot of the other reviewers I actually like Beck's, especially the Dark. I'm also a big fan of hoppy Bohemian style pilseners and hoped that this one brought that sort of flavor.

This beer uses the newly developed Saphir hops which are being used as a substitute for Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, which have become prone to disease. While Saphir shares many characteristics of Hallertau and is used for aroma, this beer doesn't seem to have very much of it.

A- Poured into a Pilsener glass, the beer displayed a thin golden color with bright, white foamy head that dissipated rapidly and left absolutely no lacing. When the glass was empty it almost appeared cleaner than it was before the pour.

S-Slight sweetness but no indication of hops, this was a big disappointment.

T-Sweet and smooth but none of the enticing bitterness of a good pilsener. The taste fades quickly and becomes cheap, it doesn't endure and is forgettable. Taking another taste gives another quickly forgotten hint of sweetness.

M-Mouthfeel is smooth but like the taste this fades quickly as well. It encourages another swallow to regain the feel and it appears that this beer was created as a sort of malt liquor with high alcohol content for heavy drinkers, rather than those who take time to enjoy the brew itself.

O-I will not buy this product again, it's apparently created for an audience that wants the big kick of alcohol without having to develop a taste for a fine brew. It's disguised as a flavorful, hoppy Bohemian style pilsener but it's all smoke and mirrors. Much better choices are available for the price.

16oz can poured in pint glass. Purchased at gas station.

Appearance-color resembles apple juice, with 1 finger white head that disappears in less then 60 seconds. 3

Aroma-corn, stale wheat bread, hint of banana, not much. 2.25

Taste-dried wheat, corn, very earthy, banana is there, but all flavors are bland. 2.25

Feel-water, mid carbonation, smooth-ish, drys a bit with alcohol. 3

Overall-I don't think I will be buying this again, feels and tastes like an American beer not German. Which isn't a bad thing I just don't understand this release other than to make more money out of an inferior product. I like beck's, but this tastes like beck's and Budweiser had a baby and that baby was left out in the sun to long then stumbled into a frat house to become a college beer. 2.25

A: Poured from a bottle into standard pint. Clear light golden color. Lots of carbonation, and a medium to light amount of white foam. Little to no lacing.

S: Smells sweet and grassy, nothing particularly inviting here.

T: Taste starts off slightly sweet but ends with a metallic flavor. Not enjoyable to me.

M: Smooth and crisp, nothing to complain about here. Nothing particularly special either.

O: This is supposed to be a higher end beer, and a 10$ for a 6 pack I expected something better from Beck's. To me this brings nothing new to the plate, and if anything is a step backwards. The added "6%" of alcohol took away from the taste of the beer rather than adding to it. Not worth the money.

12oz bottle, brewed in St. Louis, MO. Golden with excellent clarity, frothy white head holds good retention. Aromas are lager yeast, grassy hop, very faint pilsener malt. Tastes are oddly floral & fruity, earthy, grassy, sweet, no sharp finish as expected with a pilsener. Body seems like it's actually fuller than it should be, it's medium & creamy. Overall, I had a hard time with this one. Doesn't have much for pilsener qualities, odd flavors. Not good at all.

16 oz can after an afternoon of painting.
Looks innocent enough, pale yellow with a decent head. Thin watery mouthfeel, grainy corn and hints of metal. Even for a macro this isn't that good.

16 oz single picked up at the gas station. It was either $1.50 or $1.75.. I poured this shiz into my Sam Adams glass.

It poured lite and clear as only InBev can make it - I wonder if they have a spectrophotometric patent? Overall, my best description of the taste is "a bit of grass & leaf clippings inside a malt liquor/ice beer mess."

Overall, it seems like Beck's amped up the alcohol on an already bland base, and possibly froze the result. The new "Sapphire" hop? If those were the grass & leaf clipping taste, let's hope they lose the seed stock..

Bright and clear gold colour, not much foam, less lacing.

Corn in the smell, slight hint of some hops.

Big corn flavour, grainy, non sweet malt, light but not pleasant bitterness. Fancy looking bottle but it's what inside that counts and the beer doesn't count for much. An AB-InBev fail. Kicking up the abv and putting it in a brown bottle does not make it an auto better brew.

12oz bottle poured into pint glass

A: Poured a straw yellow color, very clear with lots of visible carbonation. Had a fingers worth of head the dissipated very quickly with no lacing.

S: Pretty much smells like beer... Pretty non-descript... little sweet malt and a touch of hops...(Not much).

T: Pretty bland and a little watered down.... light sweet malt and a light touch of hops.

M: Light, pretty watered down, average carbonation, but is easy down with a clean finish.

O: Not really anything different or too impressed from Beck's here.

Poured aggressively into a glass. Bready aromas, faint skunk noted in previous entries. Golden color, two-finger creamy, foamy head. No lacing, but ring of foam on top of beer. Light carbonation emanating from the bottom. Malty taste and mouthfeel. A whisper, virtually non-existent, of hop bitterness. Being maltier than regular Beck's, it leaves a coating around the mouth. Almost overwhelmingly sweet. A "fuller," maltier version of Bud. Nothing special.

Poured it into the 12 oz. Sam Adams glass. Clear and gold, with a very short-lived head. No lacing on the glass. Aroma is almost absent, as all I got was a faint whiff of any malt. Taste isn't too bad, but there is very little distinctive about it. It just has a little sweetness (but nothing I can put my finger on) and little hop bitterness on the finish. Moderate carbonation, a little heavy on the finish. Thinner in texture. It might be the one I'd choose out of a selection of mediocre beers but not one I'll ever seek out again. Of note, the beer color on the packaging is decidedly NOT the color of the beer when poured from the bottle. Also interesting, brewed in St. Louis (by the AB part of InBev-AB), so it's not even a German import anymore. But clearly trying to appeal to that market.

Poured from my 12 fl oz (355 ml) bottle into a tulip glass.

I like the can, but a can /bottle does not maketh the brew . . .

The nose is airy, light flower almost like freshly laundered linen put out to dry in a green field (like Downy fabric softener). Thick foamy head, nice dark golden hue. It has a thin feel in the mouth a cross somewhere between high-octane spirit like moonshne or Everclear; seltzer, and day-old tea. The taste of hops is there but it's been diluted by the characters above. Make no mistake: It's not a good brew at all, but I don't think it's as bad as some of the reviewers had made this out to be. But if you want to go good and cheap for your beer: Pass on this one: You can do better. Otherwise, only if you must.
