Really a pretty good macro. Price is insane. The year is 2017 and a 12 pack of Hamms is $3.49 at my local gas station. That is not a typo.

When considering Hamm's (and you should), we must consider that this is a relic of a time far gone. This beautiful beverage has eclipsed and transcended almost into a cult following. You may see hipsters walking around with their PBR and their Miller Lite, but this is of no consequence as the truly discerning beer hipster will reach no further than a 30 pack of this lightly-golden and smooth American lager.

When you roll up to the lake with your best gal, your buds, and a cooler full of brats, let's be honest: what are you reaching for? What's the beer you're looking for?

To judge a beer on taste alone is to ignore the societal impact of the beverage, just like tea isn't just tea and coffee isn't just coffee, Hamm's isn't just beer. It's a legacy, it's a tradition.

Yeah it tastes like crap too I know.

Type: 12-oz. can
Glass: Clear 15.25-oz. pilsner
From: Jim
Price: N/A
Purchased: N/A; Received: Aug. 8, 2017
Consumed: Aug. 8, 2017
Reviewed as: American Adjunct Lager
Misc.: Best before Nov. 13, 2017

Asked Big Jim for a can after hearing that he found a case of it recently in a store out here. Had no hopes going in and quite frankly was not looking forward to it. Expecting something in the 2.00 range. A 2.16 or less would make my all-time bottom 10. Even though it’s macro and an American Adjunct Lager, I wanted to still try it.

Poured a straw, clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of fizzy off-white head. Lots of fast moving bubble streams shooting up to the top of the glass. Terrible lacing. Average retention. (Sight - 2.75)

Smelled Corn Pops, honey, barley, grain and hints of floral hops. Not as bad as I thought it was going to smell. (Smell - 3.00)

Tasted was worse than the smell in the beginning, but got better as it went down. Initially gave a bitter beer face and shook my head. Still a lot like the nose though. Watery Corn Pops, honey, pilsner malt, clean barley, light grain, lingering metallic notes and hay. (Taste - 3.00)

Light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, clean finish. (Feel - 2.75)

Not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. For the style, overall it was below average. (Overall - 2.75)

This poured a very yellow color with a foamy head. The smell had a standard AAL aroma full of cereal grains. The taste was decent and better than expected with a slight malt aftertaste and a taste of hops at the beginning. This was very carbonated and went down smooth enough. The price is the main selling point, you can't go wrong with a 24 pack for 13 dollars.

L: Pours a bright straw yellow color with a creamy white head that dissipates quickly.

S: Very little aroma, some grain and sweet Apple.

T: Some grain, sweet Apple, a little bit of corn.

L:. Light body a little watery.

Refreshing taste and at $12.99 for a 30 pack it's my new beer of choice.

After 46 years I finally tried a Hamms. Truth be told, I was eating some goulash at the High Life Lounge in Des Moines. The goulash was steaming hot and I needed a cool, cheap drink to cool my mouth. It was! Actually, this Hamms was much better than i expected. At least it didn't have that skunky bad taste like the AALs that actually try. The Buds, the Miller's...Naw, this was just a watery, bland beer. And, frankly, I didn't mind that. So, grab a Hamms. It won't be life changing, and definitely won't be the best beer you've ever had. But it won't be the worst!

I don't drink a lot of AAL's but this one is decent. Its sweet and has the standard adjunct taste but there is more here than a Bud Light or Coors. Also no sprite carbonation just a smooth feel.

I love the taste. Far better than many American beers. Refreshing taste.

Hands down ine of my favorite classic American lagers...easy on the wallet but doesnt taste cheap, at $2.99 for a 6 pack of pints ($9.99 for a case), it is crisp and full, never skunky and is just a great beer...it has taken the place of my daily Budweiser or Pabst

For the price, this compares very favorably to the bigger beer distributors.

Alright, I'm going to rate this in style. If you try and compare this to craft beer, you're going to rate it horribly. With that said, it's creamy, light, refreshing, and goes down easy. This is what my grandfather drank almost exclusively, and for good reason. Saw it on the shelf at my local supermarket and figured I might as well try it, it has replaced Rainer as my go to AAL. I could see myself sucking these down on a hot day, plus the price can't be beat.

To the people who rated this below a 3. Come on now, it's AAL not Pulling Nails, and no, I don't care you've had Scooop.
