BEER INFO

Brewed by:
Portneuf Valley Brewing

Style: American Pale Ale (APA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): not listed

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
A light, refreshingly smooth pale ale with subtle fruity overtones. Made using a blend of four types of malted barley, and three varieties of hops. The specialty malts, especially the Munich malt, impart a subtle malt flavor that makes this a particularly savory brew. An excellent choice for the light beer lover.

Pour: Pale golden-yellow color with 1 finger of white head that retains well and leaves a touch of lacing on the glass.

Smell: Hints of pale malt, yeast, a little buttery, and some floral hops.

Taste: Pale malty backbone which supports a hint of citrus and yeast, and finishes up with a moderate, spicy hop bitterness and slightly dry.

Mouthfeel: Light, crisp, and active carbonation.

Drinkability: Extremely refreshing and quaffable.

Final Notes: A solid APA, a great session beer and very refreshing on a hot day.

The appearance was a hazy golden-yellow color with a finger's worth of white head that once it dissipates it leaves a glossy lace on the glass.
The smell had some floral hops over a little bit of breadiness.
The taste was pretty much the same with a sharp citrusy aftertaste and dry finish.
The mouthfeel was light bodied with a crisp sessionability about it. Carbonation felt mainly light.
Overall, its a good APA worthy of having again, mainly in the Summer.
