V-Five Star is located in the classy St. Louis exurb of Clayton. The place is medium sized with a small bar and one or two TVs. It is more of a restaurant than a bar, but it feels a bit like an upscale pub with lots of wood and chalkboards listing the drinks on offer. I visited for dinner on a rainy Sunday evening and there were just a few tables occupied and a few patrons at the bar.

Q-The tap list is comprised almost entirely of local craft, which is nice. The taps were mostly flagship beers, but good stuff nonetheless. The cans and bottles seemed to have almost every type of Budweiser beer made, which is not surprising since this is St. Louis.

Ser-My waiter was friendly and helpful when I asked about the beers. My food arrived quickly and the burger was prepared correctly. My beer arrived in a shaker pint, but it was a pilsner, so I guess that is OK.

Sel-Don't come to Five Star expecting 40 or 50 taps of rare beer. There were ten beers on tap (none of them too unusual) and maybe 20 can/bottle options, including a number of BMC options.

F-Five Star had run out of two burgers for the evening, which happens in the restaurant world, I guess. Anyway, my buffalo burger was pretty good. It was not a world-beating burger, but the coffee rub was kinda different and tasty.

O-A nice burger spot with an inviting atmosphere.

8 local taps. 20 something good bottles. Arguably the best burger in town. What more do you need? Just a really cool place in a cool spot in Clayton. Taps are always local, featuring 4 Hands, Civil Life, Perennial, Schlafly, etc. Decent sized bar with a couple of TVs. Happy Hour every day with 1/2 price pints and sliders and such. Did I mention cheese curds? Yeah, some of the best fried cheese curds I've had outside of Wisconsin. You'll leave this place with a very happy stomach.
