Easily in the Top 5 of coolest bar/restaurants I've been too. Beautiful outdoor area on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Nice beer list, great polish staff and food. The place itself is so interesting with all the eclectic woodwork, etc. A must see!

This is a phenomenal place in Cross Village Michigan. The drive up from the south is almost as nice as the place itself. Stanley Smolak built the place in the late 1920's and you will marvel at his imagination from the stone work of the building to the incredible carvings of monsters inside. The food is Polish and always well done. The beer selection is extensive - over 100 varieties starting with Polish favorites Zywiec and Okocim and including a large selection of local, regional and national craft beer and a good selection of imports. It sits on a high bluff overlooking Lake Michigan and in good weather you can sit in the garden. Highly recommended.

Make this a must fall destination. The views, foliage and setting are worth the trip. It is out of the way.

Fairly authentic Polish food…the quality sometimes bounces around a little, they hire a lot of Eastern European kids over the summer. Possibly the cooks too. The bar is definitely a old time place to hang.

Atmosphere has a '50s borscht belt feel to it…lots of wood and strange driftwood/antlers/dust going ons

Quality have never had a bad meal, and we go there about once a year with family

Service has varied, but overall a better than chain restaurant take on things

Selection…extensive beer and wine list…bottles are better than taps, which surprised me, others have stated this too. In fairness, we usually hit during the week, so the taps might have been a little off/old

Food is above average with a lot of authentic Polish entrees…go with them and you won't be disappointed desserts are memorable

If Spring or summer, eat outside for best atmosphere

If you are in the area of Petoskey, Michigan you must stop here! It's a nice ride up the (Fall colors) Tunnel of Trees, M-119...The highway follows the shore of Lake Michigan and the Little Traverse Bay.
They have a selection of (Craft) beers that's outstanding ! Do not waste your time with the Polish (on tap) beer. I had a Lagunitas, I have had it in California before but never in Michigan. After that a Great Lakes "Edmund Fitzgerald" It was the right beer for dinner. We had the Polish Plate followed by "Desery" The--World's Second Most Delicious Carrot Cake!
Try for Desery the Szarlotka share one!
Our waitress was poor to bad, good thing the meal was great! The bartender told me the reason for all the beers is the wait for a table can be as long as 2 hours. This place is a Landmark and has a great view of Lake Michigan too!
