A traditional tripel with a Michigan cherry twist. It starts as expected, has a simple spicey middle; finishing off with a slightly tart bite. The nose carries a slight spice with a subtle fruitiness. A nice lighter golden body to look at, like a sunny day riding your bicycle in the Belgian countryside.

22 ounce bottle into chalice, 2015 vintage release. Pours hazy deep red/orange color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of tart cherry, lemon, pear, apple, red grape, pepper, honey, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, tart cherries, and bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of tart cherry, lemon, pear, apple, red grape, pepper, honey, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of yeast spice and fruity tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of cherry, lemon, pear, apple, red grape, pepper, honey, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, tart cherries, and bready malt flavors; with a great yeast/fruit/malt balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly slick/acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice fruited tripel style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cherries, and bready malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
