Coconut & Vanilla Milk Stout
We had to beg Dan to make this and it turned out awesome! Rich, dark, and velvety smooth, we added hints of coconut and vanilla to our milk stout to remind you of the tropical vacation you forgot to take this year. Guaranteed to cure what ails you!

A: Dark black in color with a large tan head.
S: Sugary sweet with coconut and vanilla.
T: Sweet. Very sweet. Vanilla takes a back seat, but the coconut is out in force... Like a mounds bar in a glass.
M: Medium thick, with moderate carbonation, and a bit of a creamy mouthfeel.
O: Very sweet, enjoyable, but anything more, and I'd be worried about cavities.

Serving Type: 473 mL Can
L- Pours an opaque black liquid topped by an off-white 1/4 finger head, fading away rather quickly to a thin ring. Light lacing
S- Main feature here is, as to be expected, coconut and vanilla. Subtle roasty notes to make an appearance but they are most certainly a side show.
T- Much of the same from the aroma. Sweet coconut and vanilla are the main attraction, roasty coffee notes add a little depth to the flavour. Not particularly well balanced but then again, a Milk Stout is supposed to be sweet. Wouldn't personally drink more than one in a sitting but this beer is a real treat!
F- Medium body with low carbonation. Nothing out of the ordinary for a milk stout
O- I've never been a huge fan of sweet beers and more specifically, not a huge fan of milk stouts. However, You Figure It Out offers some rich flavours in an easy drinking package. As mentioned earlier, I wouldn't want to drink anymore than one in a sitting , but this beer is a real treat... a dessert even!

Poured from 16 oz can.
A: Dark brown with 3 finger mocha head with lasting retention and moderate lacing.
S: Coconut, vanilla, slightly sweet pastries. I was reviewing blind and picked up on hints of bourbon.
T: Coconut, vanilla, fresh baked brown bread, molasses.
M: Medium body with light carbonation. Alcohol presence above it’s ABV.
O: Very nice milk stout. Coconut in stouts is a favorite of mine and I wouldn’t have minded it being stronger here.

Grabbed from Jake's Liquor in Monroe MI. $2.19 for the tall boy. Here we go.
Look - Black though penetrated by the light. Decent finger of fizzy off white head.
Smell - WOW let's talk about that coconut. Smells like I just busted a coconut wide open and stuck my nose in it. Cannot complain here in any regard.
Taste - Coconut as you would expect leads the whole thing here. Touches of the vanilla though there is a weird alcoholic note that hits mid palate that kinda annoys me upon a swig. That'll lose a quarter in the score.
Feel - Mild with a moderate carbonation. Super sweet and I can just imagine a mounds melting in my mouth without the true richness.
Overall - This beer had a ton of potential. I am a huge fan of all the flavors presented but that unusual alcohol note really threw things for a toss. The smell punched me in the face but the rest kinda let me down. Do not mean to sound like I am bashing this in any regard, it is a super solid beer.

I ordered this on tap. It was served in a pint with little to no head. Very dark and strong coconut smell. The coconut taste certainly came through but it was a weak finish. I would not order it again it just lacked enough depth for me.

You Figure It Out pours a nice chocolate brown-black pour with a fingernail of beige head.
Aromas of shaved coconut, peppermint, chocolate, and vanilla. It reminds me a lot of a holiday bite sized treat made of chocolate and peppermint with coconut on top.
Flavor is coffee and chocolate-forward, with assertive flavors of roast barley and slight mint. A finish of lingering acidic coffee and coconut. Overall it's a very good flavor profile.
Feel is, well I want to say it's a tad thin, but just when I think so, a creaminess comes in and bumps it to almost perfection. I can't knock this too much. It's nice.
Overall, I've figured it out. It's a good stout I'd come back to. I'm glad I was able to solve this puzzle.

Starts like a stout becomes a chocolate and coconut mix and leaves with incredible amount of coconut. Very good beer I didn't expect it.

I really like this effort. The vanilla and coconut are subtle and not artificial, and it doesn't go with the wave of cranking the ABV so it works well in a rotational session. This will be a fridge staple every season if it stays in the Griffin rotation

16 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 2/9/2017. Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk chocolate, toasted coconut, vanilla, caramel, cream, brown sugar, cocoa, and brown bread; with light toffee, coffee, dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, coconut, vanilla, and lactose notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, toasted coconut, vanilla, caramel, cream, brown sugar, cocoa, and brown bread; with light toffee, coffee, dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness. Slight herbal/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, toasted coconut, vanilla, caramel, cream, brown sugar, cocoa, brown bread, light toffee/coffee, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coconut, vanilla, and lactose flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Minimal dryness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is an awesome coconut milk stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coconut, vanilla, and lactose flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Nicely rich with an awesome mouthfeel for the modest ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
