16 oz can from Ian (superspak). Thanks man! Into EBC (Eponymous Brewing Company) Teku.

Pours a dark brown-black with a tall creamy head of 1/2 finger that stays and leaves lacing up the sides of the glass.

Aroma brings rich acidic sharp coffee 1st and hazelnuts 2nd, with slight bourbon barrel in the distance.

Flavor brings ashy acidic coffee and some slight bitter roasted hazelnut, followed by very slight brown sugar and then a huge hit of pine, soap, and char. The pine and char really remains on the finish for a few seconds. I like the open better than the close.

Feel is creamy and resinous both, and I'm really surprised at the amount of hops in this beer. Brings prickly carbonation and some building alcohol heat but still well hidden.

Overall a tasty treat and I always love hazelnut. This one put an interesting hoppy spin on it and gave it a campfire vibe too which I was not expecting. Still turned out okay. In the future (if I were to come across them) I would not sit on these as long, as I know the first two I got from spak were a total home run and the last two were just my fault for not drinking sooner.

5 oz pour from draught @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam, displayed as 12% ABV. Pitch black colour. Dense light beige head with good lacing. Aroma's of heavy roasted malts, ground coffee, hazelnut, sweetness, vanilla and bourbon. Retronasal it's notably ground coffee, with sweetness and light bourbon. Flavour is moderate sweet with roasty bitterness. Alcohol feel is mild but there is some heat. Medium to full bodied. Finishes roasted, above moderate bitter. Quite light on the bourbon and hazelnut, and heavy on the coffee. Very tasty anyway.

Pours black with two fingers of khaki foam that is thick and bubbly. Head retention is good. Aroma is roasty and toasty malts, which are quickly followed by roasted hazelnut, toffee and medium-roast and bodied coffee. Bourbon and char add a little bitterness and heat, with an emphasis on the former. Hazelnut adds a driving earthy quality that smooths out the bitterness a touch. Flavor profile is a subtle complex maze of roasty hazelnuts, toffee, caramel, chocolate and medium-roast coffee with roasty, toasty, earthy malts. Bourbon is present throughout adding just a kiss of heat, without disrupting or distracting from the balance. All together, there is a charred, semi-burnt quality here. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a smoothness that thins out just a touch below creamy. Like comparing 1% milk to 2% milk. Overall, very nice complexities and balances here. It certainly 'works', folding hazelnuts in with coffee and bourbon.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 16oz can.

As much brown as black, pours plenty thick, totally opaque in the class. Light beige head, plenty of coffee to the nose. Creamy mouth feel, lots of roast and beans. Hazelnut is strangely absent. Not much barrel, but it still finishes quite clean and is very smooth. Very drinkable. I'm curious about where the hazelnut went.

Clean damn-near-black body with a crisp face and an almost-fingers-worth of light brown/almond cream coloured head. Settles back to the ruff around the cuff pretty readily. No lacing to speak of.

Dusty shells start things off in a not entirely exciting manner, but as it opens up this transforms from a slightly harsh earthiness to a creamy nutty delicious. First impression I'd give like a 3.5-3.75, once it settles in that's in the 4.25-4.5 range. So average it out. Big nutty hazelnut is creamy smoothe and delicious. Roasty char and a little bit of vanilla. A hint of warm creamy coffee, but only a hint. Almost a hint of tabacco as well, and definitely a little bit of booziness.

Sweet creamy hazelnuts take the lead with that same barrel notes from before: sweet vanilla and oak and I swear a touch of tobacco and fig before a bit of bitter coffee and dulce de leche/caramel. Definitely a decent amount of alcohol burn. Finish is alcohol and that sweet dulce de leche.
Incredible flavours in a smoothe sticky medium body that is contrasted with aggressive carbonation and a ton of alcohol burn. This one is definitely 14% and feels it. Still really enjoying it a lot. Would love to try this one with some age on it.
Much love to @FlintB for sending it along in his trio of NBS BIF#007 boxes. Thanks Brian!
