Auchan supermarkets in France started carrying this earlier this year, as well as a 4.5° pure malt lighter version. It's made by Brasserie de Saverne.

A-Pours a clear golden-orange color w/soapy off-white head, decent retention, bits of lacing.

S-Solvents and grain alcohol, light sweet malt, grainy components, cheap whiskey, rich in minerals.

T-Slightly astringent and strong alcohol presence, so strong that I would expect this beer to be at least 10° but it's not. Bitter aftertaste that seems to come more from astringency than hops, and heat from the alcohol. There is no true beer character anywhere in the taste. Nothing I can perceive has anything to do with how beer should taste. This tastes like something brewed in a bathtub on the wrong side of the iron curtain.

M-Heat and astringency, but the carbonation level is good. No balance...mineral character is rather strong, little sweetness from malt.

D-The mineral character is not altogether pleasant (combination of sulfur, calcium, and other unidentifiable elements that remind me of well water) but at least makes it a little interesting. An abomination of God, but a good workout for your tastebuds if you're too used to good beer. I'm listening to Korn, yet it's still analogous to drinking Popov Blue while listening to Mozart.
