A wonderful local restaurant, its almost a landmark really. Fantastic, reasonably priced food, varied specials, and an incredible beer selection. A dozen plus taps, and a great bottle section. Everything from Chimay blue to barrel aged rasputin, with a great variety of Olde Hickory brews obviously. Would definitely recommend to anyone stopping in Hickory.

Arrived around 10:05 PM on a Thursday night, after abandoning my visit to the "Tap Room" across the street. They've done a nice job with turning the old train station into a pub. Walked into the bottle shop side. More on that in a minute. Went to the bar area. I'm usually pretty comfortable in unfamiliar places, but this place had a bad vibe. Crowd was not hostile, but certainly knew I was not a local. Good selection of stuff. Did a flight. All pretty average beers. Decided this was not a bar I was going to hang around.
The bottle shop is the best part about this place. Large selection. Lots of Wicked Weed and, of course, Olde Hickory. Lacked other good NC brewers. Great selection of European imports.
Bottom line: drive the extra 30 minutes and spend your time at Fonta Flora.

Loved what they have done with this old train station. Nice open feel. Love the deli/bottle shop up front
All beers were top notch, I do feel the one cask beer I did was a little too warm, I have drank enough pints in the UK to know proper serving temperature
Service was stellar & friendly. Bar tenders & store staff liked talking beer
Selection was great. Heavy emphasis on some Great Olde Hickory beers, but also other NC, National & imports as well to include a cask beer from England!
Food was fantastic, although pricey, would go back just for the food!

This is kind of a cafe but they also sell beer. They don't have the best beer selection in the world but what they do have is a great selection of Olde Hickory brewing products and at the best prices I have seen them anywhere! I did not try the food but it did look like a nice little place to grab lunch! I feel like my review numbers are going to reflect low, but there are better places to get beer. I will add this caveat, it is a nice place and you should check it out!

I've been here a couple times just for the beer and a couple times for the food. The place is an old train station and it's kind of neat. There's a bakery/deli meats/cheese station in the front of the store along with beer and wine (and some local goods like grits, pickles, etc.) I never looked at the wine, but the beer for sale is actually reasonably priced.
Now, the restaurant has about 30+ beers on tap (I believe). The choices are outstanding. Of course, they have most of the Olde Hickory beers on tap and at least one cask. They have plenty of local beer but a good selection of beers from top breweries. Also, on the beer list, they let you know what's leaving soon and what's coming up next.
The food is actually pretty good too. They use local ingredients and I typically see the cooks purchasing things at the local farmers market. The entree menu for dinner can be pricey, but you get a lot for your dollar. The sandwiches are the best prices and I typically have leftovers.
I'm going to be coming back to this place for sure.

Have never eaten here, so can't speak to the food. But I know that I'll always find a good bottle in the shop and I make sure to check out the taplist since they always seem to have stuff I can't find anywhere else. Great place that I'll continue to frequent.

A great addition to downtown Hickory, just across the tracks from their Tap Room. When you can open a bar pretty much right beside another of your bars - and keep them both flowing steadily with customers - you're doing something right. A massive draft list (I'm guessing 80) covering lots of styles - loads of local and international brews to choose from - two cask conditioned brews too. Great food - though the menu recently changed and is now a bit pricier than before. The also have a small deli with very interesting stuff, a good bottle shop and they sell OHB growlers. We stopped by today and had KBS on draft and a dry hopped Irish Walker on cask.... It was a good day.

Wow - this is a wonderful new addition to the Hickory NC scene. While the Tap Room just across the railroad tracks focuses heavily on Olde Hickory Brewery beers, the Station has a much larger and more wide ranging list. Service has been decent on several occasions.
Only one complaint: the Station has 2 beers on cask (which isn't at all the complaint - fantastic!). Twice when I've been there, they've had the same beer on tap and on cask, and the waitstaff couldn't figure out which was the correct one. My table had to send back several beers because they weren't the one on cask. Minor annoyance though given the overall quality of the place and the beer list.
