12oz, canned on 07/18/18. Light caramel colored body with a persistent foamy khaki head. Typical Märzen aroma with toasty grain, caramel, spicy & earthy hops. Spicy & eartht noble hops meld well with abundant caramely toasted grain, and bread crust. Medium body, ample carbonation, finishes slightly too assertive with the hops in my opinion. Overall, it's a good American brewed Märzen. Prost!

Hazy orange, thin layer of foam, ring of spotty lacing.
Biscuity malt aroma, vaguely lemony noble hop.
Malty taste, with a light lingering bitterness in the finish.
Medium bodied, smooth feel, drinks kind of like a pale ale oddly enough.
More Americanized with the light hop presence, not as toasty/nutty as German ones.

a good but somewhat bland take on this style, not quite as lively as i like from the tap, but a good rich and sturdy malt base and a lot of length to it, easy enough drinking but plenty hearty for the fall season, i think the balance and the proportions are right, it just doesnt quite set me off in any real way. autumn orange and clear enough, some toast and honey to the nose, classic german malt profile, caramelized, and lagered, thats basic but thats all i really take from this, and the same is true in the flavor, where some nuttiness comes in, a little more body than most of these have, and a prolonged off dry finish where i can both taste the lager yeast and appreciate the richness of the malts. its nice beer, but it could have come from anyone. on top of that, its short a bit on carbonation, i like these to really fly, and this one sags, but just a bit. a nice fall session, but i have been impressed more by most of the other stuff i have had from these guys before this one. better than average, but not by leaps and bounds...

L- Pours a clear copper gold with a big, foamy head that dissapates quickly.
S- nice carmel malt with slight hop smell.
T- Toasted biscuit and carmel malt. Nice amount of hop and bitterness in the end. Wonderful taste.
M- Creamy smooth.
O- Very good octofest.

Pours a clear, copper color. One inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and decent lacing. Smells of pine, caramel malt, sweet malt, hint of yeast, slight alcohol, and slight citrus hops. Fits the style of a Marzen / Oktoberfest. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of caramel malt, slight sweet malt, slight yeast, hint of hops, and slight pale malt. Overall, good appearance, decent aroma, body, and blend.

I bought a can of the buckledown Oktoberfest off the single shelf at Binnys. It poured a clear copper with white head that is not leaving much of a lace. The scent had waifs of sweet malt and some hop. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. There was a biscuit presence with a touch a caramel malt. The Mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

Had this thrice. The last tasting was at the end of O-fest and suffered from fatigue of a style I like.
Had the second time when Binny's build-your-own-6-pack and was blowing it out of inventory after Thanksgiving.
OA, I'd say BDB's rendition has a small differential to other O-fests.
BDB's O-fest strikes me as a good (but not great) O-fest for Look, Smell and Taste.
In the mouth, it could use less hops and carbonation.
I like BuckleDown. But for next year, consider less hops and more malt.

Tried it at a recent tasting. Probably more of a adjunct Octoberfest. In the summer, you have your lawn mower beers. This is a leaf blower beer, Could drink several after an afternoon of raking and blowing leaves. Thirst quencher. Would purchase again.

This tastes kind of like if the big boys tried to do an Oktoberfest. There is nothing offensive at all with this beer, but at the same time there is nothing pleasant either. It is very watery with neither an outstanding malt or hop backbone. Very plain jane.

Taste: smooth, semi sweet, for an Oktoberfest style. Some hop character with a malt bread nose.
Copper color, clear with nice head of refine lattice on glass.
Medium body. Less hop bite that Sam Adam's version.
