I love winter saisons and farmhouse ales. This one doesn't disappoint. A: very dark, sizeable off-white head on a vigorous pour, lots of lacing. S: I don't know--belgian yeast? Estery, a little fruity, baguette/cracker/biscuit. T: a little sweeter than I'd like, but otherwise follows the nose, maybe a little spicey bitterness at the end; a touch of alcohol, but just a touch. Coriander? M: medium body, medium carbonation, a little syrupy. O: Pretty much what I was expecting, though a little bit too sweet. Otherwise, a pretty good beer for the style.

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, amber color with a one-finger, white head of foam. It smelled of fruity and yeasty with toasted caramel. It tasted of caramel, apple and a sharp bitterness.

Kind of a Saison Porter? Nice thick foamy head, but very dark beer. Aroma is malt, yeast, wet grain, bit of fruit and spice. Flavor has tang up front up front, followed by the nose qualities, roast, bittersweet with long bitter finish. Body's a tad thin.. Interesting to try, but that's about it.

poured 12oz bottle into snifter. Dark earthy brown color with a dirty white 2 finger head. Thick collar and lacing. The aroma could best be described as a dubble saison hybrid. Yeast, cinnamon, all spice, ginger, caramel, toffee, light wood, banana bread. It is sweet with some yeast up front. It gets pretty complex with cinnamon, banana bread, all spice. Chewy caramel and waves of thick toffee shine, with some earthy hops and funk on the finish. Medium bodied with perfect carbonation. Many of the spices linger on the palate. This was one interesting and flavorful beer.
