Southern Cross beer is a Belgian-style Double Red Ale. Big caramel maltiness and light toffee notes are accented with a subtle citrus character (jackfruit) from the Belgian yeast strain used to ferment

Extremely complex brew. The smell is fruity but very strong. This was an exceptional brew and I was very impressed. I would highly reccomend this to others.

Smell of toffee
Cloudy red-brown color
Medium-heavy mouthfeel

Enjoyable. Silky. Flavorful. A fine yeast is used here that results in a complex yet familiar sweet, bold flavor with distinct honey notes that belies its weighty abv. A must-have for any beer connoisseur visiting Hawaii (or not).

Pours on draft with a medium brown with some yeast particles. No head. Smell is light toast, overripe fruit, and rummy booze. Taste is similar to nose with more caramel and alcohol character and less fruitiness. Some phenols, not overwhelming but a touch strong combined with the alcohol heat.
Mouthfeel is medium body with almost no carbonation, way too thick and flat for the style. Overall a drinkable but subpar attempt at the style.
