Poured from a crowler into a stemmed vase, the beer is a dark, deep, vibrant, caramel coloring with a fluffy, clingy, off-white head. Aromas of toasted grains, sweet caramel, subtle saltiness, hints of floral and citrus notes, ginger, and apple. Flavors are lemon and apple forward, with a blast of sour and salt, subtle caramel and woody notes, and some floral hops highlights. Pretty well balanced on a smooth, light body, the beer has a caramel and chardonnay aftertaste, which sounds kind of weird, but really works. There is sweetness, but also a crisp dryness in the aftertaste. The finish is smooth, light, clean, and dry. Pretty unique take on the style, and it works.
