More big thanks to gopens44 for yet another hop masterpiece from his locals.
Clear beautiful reddish dark amber, with a nice finger of beige head that kicks back to a thick cap slowly.
Sweet citrus, light bitter pith, and a bit of floral make a delicious medium strength aroma.
Nice grainy sweet and a bit of tart yeast combine with all the flavors of the aroma into a medium strength taaste. The bitter pith combines with righteous herbal bitter to dry the sip. As it warms the herbal bitter gets some rooty aspects.
Mouthfeel saves this beer. Nice low carb and light viscosity make it easy drinking and helps it clear the palate. The finish could be a touch cleaner is my one ding.
Very well made beer that suffers a tiny bit by being a touch too rooty herbal, but is a really delicious beer for the true hophead, and is recommended.

Poured from a growler into a nonic glass. Has a red/brown color. Nice lacing. A balance taste but somewhat more bitter than your typical red ale which came as a welcome surprise.

Had on tap at Capital Ale House in downtown Richmond.
Looks, tastes, and feels like a pretty standard amber ale. Good quality, but pretty normal and unremarkable. The smell is the most unique part, with a much hoppier aroma than a typical amber ale in my opinion.
This beer is malty, slightly bitter, and enjoyable. A nice introduction to RVA.

Pours a deep GWAR-blood red with nice lingering head (on tap @ Strangeways-I live less than a mile away). Aroma of caramel and hops in perfect balance. Flavor is slightly malt forward with just enough hops to follow closely behind. I will admit I am not usually into amber/reds, but this is the best one I think I have ever had. Has a very unique flavor that I have never tasted in this style. This has definitely been a consistent "growler filler." An extremely drinkable beer. Mouthfeel is medium to med-light with med-low carbonation that just lets in roll over your tongue. Good job guys! Recommended.

Poured a clear reddish brown/copper body with two finger head that died quick and left lace patches. Aroma is citric hopped up/amped and has some floral, earthy notes that overpower any malts that are in there. Beer is the same as a light to medium body has this strong, bitter and earthy hop presence that gives off a grainy, citric feel. Finish is dry, almost sharp, due to lack of balance as hops overpower malts. I like a hopped up red and don't mind the malts being overpowered but the hops don't really work in making anything more than a just a dry, bitter, earthy, citric taste; very little hop flavor diversity and they don't really mesh or work with malts at all.

Yes. Love the name. Love the band. Beer drinks and looks just like it's name - bloody. I like it. Great malt character combined with just enough hops for the beer to shine. Definitely recommend this one.
