Appearance: Clear and golden with two fingers of bright white head that upon thinning out leaves behind nice lacing.

Aroma: Grassy, lemon zest, grain, green apple with light yeasty notes.

Taste: Lemon zest, apple, crisp mouthfeel with a floral hop bite that gives out a faint dryness. Grainy, grassy.

Notes: What we have here is a solidly tasty Lager all over a good one to pick up. Cheers.

Had this during a visit to Wimbledon. A nice touch.
First of all, Andy Murray, a Scot (Harviestoun is a Scottish brewery) ended up winning that tournament (first time a Brit won its home tournament in almost eight decades.)

Schiehallion also is listed in the "1001" and deserves to be there for when Britain, increasingly, needs more quenching beers (due to global warming.)
Schiehallion also listed in Roger Protz' "300 Beers To Try Before You Die."

A: Pours a clear, dark gold with a single finger of rich, off-white head that persists. Some lacing. Plenty of carbonation visible.

S: A pronounced hop nose for a lager, as well as the usual grains.

T: Well above average flavour for the style. Grassy hops. Very moreish malt base.

F: Excellent mouthfeel. Dry, rich. Good level of bitterness. Some sweetness. Coats the tongue. Carbonation is present without being fizzy.

O: If this was available in a pub or restaurant I'd drink it very happily.

Pours a pale gold, filtered, with medium head and a bit of lacing. Nose is crisp and clean, with some doughy notes. Very German lager-esk. Flavor is also very crisp, with some honey and breast malt. Mouthfeel is a bit more carbonated, but seems right considering the crispness I mentioned. Overall, a very pleasurable and easy drinking lager. Not one for deep thoughts, but sometimes that's okay.

500ml bottle into a conical pint glass. Paid £2.00 for a single bottle

Pours a clear, pale golden straw coloured body with a one-finger in height, thin, white, bubbly head that reduces quickly to a frothy cap, leaving behind a modest amount of fine lacing.

On the nose, a mixture of light malts, fresh toasty grains, floral, grassy and citrusy hops give an interesting and uncharacteristically inviting aroma for a lager. Taste follows the nose, light, crisp, semi-sweet grainy malts lead the way upfront before transitioning to a solid bready backbone in the middle. The finish is a touch dry, hoppy, and a little bitter. Floral, fruity and spicy hops provide almost perfect balance to the generously malt-heavy body with a firm, refreshing grapefruit note left lingering on the palate. Light to medium-bodied with ample carbonation, the mouth-feel starts out smooth and ends up crisp, slightly dry and extremely refreshing.

Overall this is a great beer, full of character, well-balanced, immensely quaffable and excellent value for money. Recommended.

From a bottle in Edinburgh.

Bright golden body with medium carbonation. Crisp light body.
Modestly stronger flavor than average for style, mostly due to the hops.
