Shared immediately following Saison du Fermier to celebrate my graduation, courtesy Abbbp. Poured from a batch 1 bottle into a Prairie Teku glass.

Appearance: Light yellow/white, incredibly hazy, with a creamy but small head that goes away fast. A thick bubbly crown hangs around for a while afterward though and leaves some healthy lacing.

Smell: Lots of bretty funk, citrusy, fruity. Like any good saison should taste, but pales a bit compared to Saison du Fermier.

Taste: Not very tart, definitely brett funk. A hint of bitterness. Lots of saltine-like cracker malt, with an almost browned, roasted quality to it. Not getting a whole lot of the chardonnay here, or the oak barrel at first, but more of it comes through as the beer sits a bit. Becomes a lot more sour too.

Mouthfeel: Quite high, prickly carbonation. Lingers a while and is quite dry.

Overall: Quite good, like everything Side Project does. Wasn’t as good as the Saison du Fermier that immediately preceded it, but still nothing to shake a stick at.

Late sunset in the glass. Sharp and vinous nose. Tangerine, oak, Chardonnay and a bit of hay funkiness. The barrel character on this is one of the best I've had in a beer. Crisp, tart and completely refreshing.

On tap at CBC 2016 - day 2. Fruity and flowery aromas, lemons, cucumbers, white wine and very feint brett notes.
