750ml Bottle Poured into a snifter, enjoyed on-site at SP cellar.

Poured dark and viscous, with a nice thin head. Seems to coat the glass quite nicely. Smells of bourbon, chocolate, toasted oak and leather. SWEET. Almost too much so, like bruery stout sweet. Thankfully we split a bottle because I don’t think I could have enjoyed a lot of this beer. This was my first time tasting any derivation blend and Im really hoping the blend 1 and 2 I gave a right testicle to obtain have a lot more balance than this did. I’d say keep your TG stouts and BVDLs, they hype is way too strong on this one.

Shared during SP Brewery 1 year anniversary celebration. Pours pitch black with no head to speak of. Smells sweet. I think the age has turned this Derivation into my favorite one of all the series(and having them pretty much all at the same time solidifies how good this was to me.. Probably more because this beer is very sweet right now. No adjunct sweet, just a perfect dessert in a glass. No noticeable alcohol. I loved it!

750 mL bottle. Viscous black body. Smells of whiskey. Bright whiskey. Distinctly rye. Chocolate and fudge. Taste is rich chocolate and fudge. Less distinct rye whiskey flavor. Less barrel entirely here. Molasses in the finish. Heavy. Sweet and boozy. Very tasty.

This was a bottle generously shared at Side Project Cellar. Thanks to Keith and Tyler!
Served in a small stemmed taster glass.

Black with brownish edges, a thin veil on the surface and minimal spotty lacing.
Aroma and taste of melting toasted marshmallow and gooey fudge brownie.
Rich with an expressive barrel character, woody with toasted coconut and vanilla traces.
Full bodied, light carb, creamy and sticky on the lips. Thankfully not overly sweet.
Reminiscent of a less sweet and more woody Bourbon County.

Overall this was a real treat to try, one that we had resigned not to splurge on at $50.
Thanks again to a couple of very generous guys at the bar that day!
