Smooth is our Missouri Wild Ale that was fermented in and aged in a French Oak foedre with Missouri microflora for 2 years. L: Pours a light hazy golden color

S: Very acidic you can smell the nectarines that are packed into this bottle.

T: Very juicy but very sour. Big Nectarine and citrus notes

F: Very light, very crisp with a dry finish

O: This is a solid fruited sour. Love the look and the smell but just a bit to sour for me.

Hazy, golden, minimal head, just looks gorgeous in a glass. Funk, acidity, nectarine, oak come through on the nose and the palate. Perfectly balanced and carbed, and perhaps a little more sour than average for SP.

375 mL bottle. Hazy orange without much of a head. Nice nectarine aroma. It smells of very distinct peach/nectarine/stone fruit. The taste is immensely sour up front. Oak. Strong stone fruit. Very juicy. After the sourness dies down, it has a little bit of nectarine sweetness. Standard absurd Side Project sourness. Makes it difficult to drink. Low carbonation. Very flavorful, but overly sour.

Huge upfront acidity while cold with a nice sweet juicy feel as it gets closer to room temperature. I wouldn't exactly call this a fruit or a tart bomb but runs a nice balance of both.

This is the best beer that I've had from Side Project. This one is named Smooth since nectarines don't have peach fuzz, and it is smooth drinking. No chunks of fruit in this beer and it had nice clarity. Well carbonated and new CO2 always kicked up when swirled in the glass. Tons of fruit and musty farmhousey goodness in the nose. Almost like moldy or old fruit in the smell but in the best way possible - the farmhouse was distinct from the fruit. The taste is sour goodness, farmhouse animal jamboree, and fruit. It is weird but you can actually taste that it is nectarines instead of peaches. This is not as in your face sour like most of SP beers which I really liked. Would be easy to drink a few bottles by yourself.
