Hazy yellow color. White head that fades to nothing.

This is a fairly sour saison and I like it. Green apples, lemon citrus, and Belgian spice and yeast. Earthy, but clean!

Light to medium bodied. Nice feel. Ends with some sourness.

This is a really great saison. Wow!

Pours a foggy orange with transparency showing through the edges. White foamy head swells up to two fingers in height, but dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is stone, cellar, red grape, oak, lemongrass and flowers. It has a twisty, curvy aroma that intertwines notes of oak foeder and stone and grapes. Really light. Flavor profile is much more forward and robust, hitting notes of cellar stone, oak, red grapes, green apple, dry pear and lemongrass. It has a soft opening which quickly transitions into a lactic sour bite with a bit of underlying dryness that keeps the beer from lingering on the palate. Mouth feel is medium-thin with a crisp, sharp effervescence at the onset that mellows out to a more soft crisp finish - think soda pop carbonation up front with a more freshly ironed and lightly starched set of linens crispness at the finish. Overall, complexities are subtle, but dynamic adding a lot to each sip. It's not in your face or brash making it very welcoming.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 750mL bottle.

Blend 2

Appearance: Pours cloudy and apricot nectar colored with a two finger head that grows rocky; a few shards of lace

Smell: Funky lemon/lime tones with the oak underpinning

Taste: Acetic lemon/lime flavors dominate the opening, with the leathery funk building, through the middle; increasingly bitter and sour, with an oaky finish; just a hint of apricot, almond and vanilla in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation; rather puckery

Overall: A lot of subtle flavors in this beer though I think there is a lack of unity in the finished product; the bitterness, the tartness and the lemon/lime flavors seem to clash rather than complement

Gold to copper in color and very hazy in complexion. There's a fingernail of eggshell white around the rim and covering a third of the top. I smell tart brettanomyces, earthy season yeast, and oak. I'm tasting pear, green apple, and tart brettanomyces. The mouth is lightly to moderately carbonated and crisp.

Pours straw gold, brightly hued and hazy. 1+ finger head is eggshell white and rather fluffy. Leaves a ring of foam once it recedes. Spiderweb lacing.

Aroma is funky brett, citrus, and flowers. Apricot and orange notes.

Lots of citrus on the tongue. Apricot, lemon, and tangelo. Funky brett. Just a touch of oak and vanilla. Something medicinal toward the end.

Pleasantly tart with a light mouth feel. Medium carbonation. Fruity and mildly earthy.

Love the fruity character of this beer. Less acidity then the Pinot SdF is a plus as well.

This is almost Saison Du Fermier to a tee, but with a better mouthfeel and creamier carbonation levels. Also with Foedre Fermier you do not get the white wine notes that are found in Saison Du Fermier. Its as if Saison Du Fermier and the Foedre beer had a baby this beer would be the result of said conjugation.

750 mL bottle. Hazy orange body with a big white head. Smells very oaky. Lemony and kinda grassy. Tastes of tons of oak as well. Some soft tropical fruitiness. Lemon and a bit of lime sourness. Dry grassy and an oaky finish. Medium body. While I still think Fermier is a phenomenal saison, this doesn't quite have the depth of flavor without the strong wine component that it usually has.

Lemon yellow liquid with a slight haze. White head forms a nice corona around the glass. Bright, lemon and clove aroma. Touch of funk on the nose. Flavor is fresh and citrusy with lots of lemon. Earthy. Grass. Floral. Sage and cloves. Delicate spice. Finishes with a somewhat aggressive funk. It's a nice flavor, just a little strong for my taste. Light, effervescent body. Mild grain texture on the tongue. A very complex and interesting saison. Well done.

Pours and unclear orange. Head is fine and off white, falls quickly.

Smell is delicious with lots of things going on. Picking out some peppery yeast, apricot and grapes and a nice oaky bottom end.

Taste is outstanding! Up front you get the typical bretty pepperiness of a saison, but then it evolves into a deliciously sour beer with huge heaps of orange, apricot, grapes and grapefruit. Not super sour, but just right. Nice touches of oak.

Mouthfeel is medium, with sparkly carbonation.

Side Project had been a major want for me, and man, it did not disappoint. This was world class, and worth every bit of the 40 dollars the bottle cost.
