Pours a brown color with light tan head. Some roasted malt mainly on the nose; follows onto the palate. Not much coffee. Medium bodied, ok carbonation. Finishes bland.

Interesting brown ale, the coffee and lactose were quite apparent. Fun experimental beer.

Looks really thin and watery when poured.
Smells like coffee. I can’t pick up anything else.
Coffee taste is also strong, without any other flavors really showing up. Other than coffee, taste is thin.
Feel is like soda. I feel the carbonated water.
Not a good beer.

I am going to rate this the way I do on Untappd because that's all I know how to do it. First off, how can you not try a beer called Bat$h!t Crazy? Second, I do like brown ales and coffee beers. It's got a nice coffee backbone and there is some lactose so there's a balance of coffee and sweetness. Yeah, it may not be true to style for a brown ale but it's easy drinking.

Batshit Crazy pours a dark brown, with not much, but lacing head. Aroma is big on coffee and cream. Flavor is coffee forward, and sweet, a bit light. Good body and feel. Overall, its coffee forward, sweet, but a tad watery.

Pours a dark brown mahogany color with a tan head and lacing. Smell is coffee first and it is fresh roasted than some chocolate and cocoa. Taste is coffe it prominent ,then notes of chocolate and cocoa with vanilla cream and marshmallow. A sweet creamy mouth feel and tasty this is a brown ale not a stout so I thought it was very tasty.

Brown pouring with a 2 finger off white head. Retention is decent, and there's some lacing on the glass.
Nose is a nice roasted coffee aroma.
The flavor is a nice flavor of coffee. There's also a bit of malt and lactose on the back that balances everything out well.
The body is decent, maybe lighter than I'd want, but not by much.
A solid beer of the style.

Not a bad coffee brown stout, and one I would get again. However it does not stand out.

Bought a single can, dated 5.10.20. Had it in my cold storage for a while and decided I should drink it.

It is very dark brown, almost black in appearance.
I don’t drink a lot of coffee flavored beers, so I definitely noticed the predominant coffee smell and taste right away. My first impression was that it was more like coffee stouts I have had, but without the body, depth or sweet flavor.
I can see why others have said it is more drinkable than they expected; it is definitely not heavy in mouthfeel.
Overall it is ok, and I would drink it again, but if given the choice I would take a coffee porter or stout if I crave that much coffee taste, because those would most likely have a more developed and balanced palate of flavors.

For a brown ale - no glaring faults or off flavors. Body is thin, no hops. Nose is overwhelmed by frank coffee aroma. Taste is unfortunate, like iced coffee.

Day #2 of the Advent Beer Calendar. Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours pitch black with a small off white head. Smells of coffee, very strong. Tastes of creamy coffee. Beer is medium bodied yet still easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a good beer.

A - Dark brown pour with caramel colored creamy foam layered on top.

S - Nice coffee and roasted malt aroma. Coffee bean is the dominant player in the nose.

T - Coffee rules this one from start to finish. Roasty flavor, coffee bean, light smoke and char, some delicate lingering roast and char and the back side.

M - Medium body that's a little thin around the edges and dry on the back of the tongue.

O - Not a brown ale fan but this one works and drinks really well.

A- 12oz can pours into a snifter with a crimson-brown body and a small head. The foam atop the beer peaks at a finger high with okay retention. Long webs and sheets of lacing from the tiniest of rings at the edge.

S- Coffee and toasted malts is the quick summary of the aroma. Fresh french pressed coffee is very strong with notes of toasted nuts, fresh mashed barley husks, chocolate and toffee supporting.

T- Coffee, chocolate, moderate sweetness and heavy malts. The barley gives a malt profile of brown sugar, toasted nuts, toffee, chocolate, slight roast and again raw barley husks in the mash. Overall it has some dark bready flavors as well as vanilla sweets and of course a ton of coffee.

MF- Kind of on the thin side to be honest. There is a bit of a frothy and foamy texture but for this flavor profile it is lacking a creaminess to support the darker, semi-rich profile. Carbonation moderately low.

Solid finger of tan foam, even surface, good retention, lacing lacks stick. Clear dark brown liquid with a storm of hyperactive bubbles visible. The roast to the nose if more cocoa than coffee, chocolate and cola, vaguely nutty, no distinct fruit scents. Light to medium-bodied, fluid and polished mouth feel, the carbonated prickle most evident when you swallow. More bready here than nutty, not finding the coffee element to be overpowering (about five months old). Lots of that cola, then heavy cream and toffee. All that said, finding it more dry than sweet and pretty well integrated. Finish is on the short side. Maybe it’s more powerful right out of the gate but at this juncture it’s an easy sipper. Tasted from a 12 oz can.

L - Deep, dark brown color but clear when held up to the light. Head is light tan; fluffy at first but fleeting, although it maintains a nice ring around the glass and a thin cloud on the surface.

S - Malt yields some dark bread, chocolate and roasted notes, but those are totally overshadowed by strong, dark -roasted coffee. If I didn't know from the label, it still would have been obvious that this was a true coffee beer from the smell alone. The coffee aroma comes across as harsh and overblown rather than inviting to me.

T - As in the aroma, the strong, bitter coffee flavors drown out any beer flavors, as if a day-old pot of cold coffee had been poured on top of a brown ale. Again, true coffee, but a bit harsh.

F - Medium body; low carbonation; semi-sweet finish, all appropriate for a brown ale. Low hops bitterness is not distinguishable from the matching coffee bitterness. Low alcohol presence.

O - The base beer is a good brown ale, but the coffee addition is overdone and aggressive for me.
