Pours black from the bottle with a minimal head that disappears quickly. The first thing you smell is smoke and charred wood, maybe a touch of unsweetened cocoa. The smoke only increases on the tongue. The chocolate is slightly more pronounced with just a bit of dark fruit hiding in the background. Medium mouth and very, very dry. It reminds me of a campfire, but a decent representation of the style.

330ml bottle into Nonic Pint
BB 7/25/19
Pours dark black with a rocky dark brown head that slowly recedes
Aroma is burnt coffee, cream
Taste very much follows, with dry coffee taste along with subtle dark fruit finish
This might find cliche but this beer is dry
Overall this is a solid beer,  if a bit one dimensional

I’ve never had an Israeli stout and I saw this at the store so I thought I try it. It was good but not the best stout I’ve had.

Look: very dark brown, almost black, with a thin mocca head that does not stay.

Aroma: The aroma was toasted malts, and a little bit of chocolate and coffee, and perhaps licorice.

Taste: There was toasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, some coffee flavor, and again perhaps some licorice. However, it was on the light side, maybe not as full flavored as I had hoped.

Feel: It was medium bodied and surprisingly carbonated, a bit dry, but easy drinking for a stout.

Lot: L12C11.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, milk chocolate, earth, and char aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, earth, and char flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid cocoa and roast characteristics all around.

Serving type: bottle.

The beer is very black. I have to tilt the beer a bit to get any brown. The head is fizzy and light brown. Aroma shows off a lot of acidic roast right off the bat. Some weak coffee. A touch of actually pretty good chocolate, which I wish was amped up considerably. While the taste doesn’t have much of a true roasted malt flavor, the acidity of black patent malt dominates the taste. There’s some light dark chocolate - again, a stronger chocolate presence would do wonders for this beer. Some simple malt sweetness, though the finish dries out satisfactorily. Odd mineral character. Feel is thin and a bit fizzy. This beer mostly emphasizes elements of the style that I don’t like. That said, I can appreciate the effort and the brewery’s intention.

Dark brown, nearing black, opaque body with a quarter inch of beige collar. Milk chocolate, vanilla, lactose. Melted milk chocolates, light roast. Light bodied and easy going. Solid.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a light brown patchy head with light lacing. Aroma of toasted malt, licorice, mild dark dried fruit and coffee. Flavor is toasted malt, coffee, cocoa, hints of dark fruit, faintly mineral. Finishes with nice, lightly charred toasted malt and light grassy hops. Medium bodied with sharp carbonation. A good example of the dry stout style, with nicely flavored malt with good coffee and chocolate notes. There is an odd, mildly mineral and fruit component that sets this somewhat apart. A welcome, well made stout from a part of the world where I would not expect great craft beer.

Poured a very dark brown body that appears black unless held to light with one finger of thick tan head. Overall impression of appearance is of a very nice stout. Scents of dark chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, licorice and black coffee at high levels, mingling together into a harmonious whole. Overall impression of aroma is of a fantastic dry stout, very true to style. Flavor begins with flavors of black coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malt, at high levels, with an undertone of dry lactic acid sourness. Middle continues these flavors, with a light sweetness balancing a moderate dryness. Finish is dry with notes of dark chocolate, black coffee and roasted malt with a light lactic and caramel character and notes of cola in the background and light notes of licorice. Aftertaste is dry with notes of roast malt, black, rich coffee and a a light creamy and dark chocolate flavor. Overall impression of flavor is of a fantastic dry stout, very true to style and excelling on all ways. Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied and creamy with medium carbonation and a dying feel. Overall impression of mouthfeel is of an excellent dry stout, one of the best examples I have tried. Overall this is a fantastic dry stout. It has an amazing aroma and flavor, coupled with an excellent mouthfeel that makes it a joy to drink. Well worth trying.
