visited for dinner and a couple beers. Located in a sort of strip mall shopping center but it's got character and mature trees in the parking lot so not so bad. Fairly small inside, but there is a bar and then tables in the rest of the space. 40 draft lines - all craft beers - a mix of local, regional, and national breweries . good mix of styles. Had a burger which was tasty and good fresh-cut fries which I am a sucker for.

I went here on a Saturday afternoon with my sister at her suggestion. It's located in a strip mall and isn't very big, although there are a fair number of tables and a good-sized bar. We didn't have any trouble finding a place to sit despite it being time for "beer school" (more on that in a minute). The place filled up quickly and things got a little cramped, but it wasn't too bad. We were attended to quickly and were soon provided with water, food, and beer menus.

The beer list is rather impressive. There are about 30 taps, many of which are occupied by unusual selections. Apparently there had been a recent tap takeover by Stone, so at least 12 or 13 taps were Stone beers, but they were Stone beers that you don't usually see around here (like a red wine barrel aged Cali-Belgique). I didn't really look at their bottle list, as I was mainly focused on the taps.

Now the main reason we went was for the beer school, which is held every Saturday around 4. Basically it's a free tasting and lesson on craft beer. This happened to be the one-year anniversary of the event, so James at the bar was generous enough to provide us with tastings from bottles which he brought from home. These included selections from HIll Farmstead and the Bruery which are almost impossible to get around here. The pours are small, but it's a great way to sample beers that are difficult to find, and it's entirely free. It's also good for someone who might not be that into craft beer, as James provided a lot of excellent information about the beers being sampled.

After beer school I had a 10 ounce Perennial Hopfentea (I wanted something light after tasting a couple of massive Imperial Stouts), which was very nice. Pours come in tasting (about 3 or 4 ounce), 10 ounce, and 16 ounce sizes for most beers, with a few only coming in the smaller sizes. Food was decent; my lettuce wraps were pretty good (although not great), and the fries were excellent with a choice of two dipping sauces. We only got appetizers, but the rest of the menu looked interesting. Service was good despite the crowd for beer school.

Overall, this was a very pleasant experience. The beer was good, the service was attentive, and the food wasn't bad either. But the real highlight was the beer school, which was awesome for being entirely free. The selections might not always be as rare as they were when I went, but as I understand it it's not unusual for James to bust out something from his personal collection occasionally. I was impressed and will most certainly be returning.

Good selection of beers on tap. Went at night, and sat outside. The couches on the patio were nice, but there's very little outdoor lighting, and so it was difficult to read the menus. The staff was friendly, though the service wasn't especially timely.
