Very Good
Hop Dang Diggity Southern IPAHop Dang Diggity Southern IPA
Notes: Our IPA was brewed to remind us of the aroma of those tall Georgia pines, while the malty backbone balances everything out. Hopped up like a one-legged chicken, this ain’t your standard IPA, Darlin.

6 pack from Atlanta gas station.

Pours light copper, nice head dissipates quickly.

Caramel candy overwhelms the aroma.

Taste: Pine/resin, slight pepper hop profile with solid bitterness to start. Caramel/biscuit dominates the rest; like, really, really dominates.

If you’re craving a giant crystal backbone to your ipa, this is it. If you want a clean, bright hop profile, this is not.

All in all very drinkable, points for choosing a distinct profile.

I had this on tap at an Atlanta hotel.
Looks wise it is a golden brown with a slight cloud but not much.
It has a comforting pine smell like a true IPA.
It has an initial hoppy pine bite but it is not severe.
It fades to a smooth, non offensive hop after taste.

Very refreshing IPA with citrusy elements but not "fruity." The hops are present and highlight the flavor without being bitter. Beautiful medium golden color and a very clean, refreshing feel. Just enough malt for my tastes. Highly recommended.

Draft at Atlanta Hawks at hartsfield Jackson. I'm from MT and love and generally prefer NW IPA's. Generally too citrusy and hops are not quite right to my palate east of the Mississippi.

This one is pretty good however. I think it is the "pine" ?? Aspect. Good decent IPA.

Pours a hazy golden amber with some lacing. The aroma is very hoppy and piney. It has a very bitter, dry finish which I really liked. It’s medium-bodied with some carbonation. This is an excellent IPA. I bought a case when I visited Jekyll Brewing on my vacation. I also really liked the Pineapple Habenaro version of this beer.

I'm lucky enough to live close to this brewery and it's in every store including big box stores.
Pours a nice medium dark amber with a great balance of hops and malts. I usually like a very hop forward beer but they pull this one off very nicely.
You want a quality beer get it. Or don't more for me when I go to the local bar they have these in pitures for 10 bucks what an amazing price for a local craft brew that is an excellent beer. It's hard to pick up exactly what's going on in this one but I like to tell friends it's very drinkable and will get you there quick

Poured from bottle into an IPA glass

What is a 'Southern IPA'?
This is more East Coast than West, for IPA style. Fine copper color, white head, some lacing. Subdued aroma, piney hops and bready malts, no tropical notes. Taste is bitter piney hops and malt background. Medium mouth feel. An okay IPA, but not distinctive.

Had at Tannery Row Ale house in Buford. Delicious! Not sweet. A bit bitter. I'd like to drink it again, many times. In fact, I'm going to try to track down a case to bring on the plane to an IPA-loving friend in New York next week. I don't yet have a beer vocabulary so I'll have to leave it at that.

I'm trying this at Henry's in midtown Hotlanta. It poured a cloudy orangish with thin white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent was pretty bland. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. Closely related to east coast ipa. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's not too bad.

Good looking brew, copper-bronze coloring, clear, with a fluffy white head but little lacing. Pretty clear concentration on balance in the smell and flavor, as piney bitterness and earthy malt are the dominant smells and tasting notes. Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot more going on: not a lot of depth, almost no citrus or fruit, and dare I say too much malt influence for an American IPA. I've seen references by other reviewers to "Southern IPAs," but I don't know what that really means. If this is a proper representation of a Southern IPA, then I'm not sure I'm all that interested.

First had at Varasano's Pizzeria, Terminal A, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, poured from 12-oz. bottle into tall, thick-walled pilsner-like glass.

Piney and malty, this is an excellent concept for a southern IPA.

Poured this beer out of a bottle into a pint glass. Great Tawny, golden color. Smell was not that distinctive. But for all the features that you look for in standard East Coast I PA, it has, citrus, piney ,nice bitter hops. Nice drinking IPA.

Some folks had referenced Hop Dang Diggity in their critique of Hootn' & Hollern' so I thought I'd immediately try Hop Dang Diggity after I finished my Hootn' & Hollern.' Wow! And yeah they could be related, perhaps cousins, but distinct is the color, aroma and taste. This is one hoppy IPA. As another rater exclaimed, "the overall effect from aroma to finish emphasizes the hops!" Pours a paler amber then the Hootn' & Hollern,' let's call it a brilliant dark gold with a healthy head and lacing. the aroma is hop, then grassy, piney & fruity. It's an outstanding IPA full of hop & citrus bitter, malty with a hint of biscuit. It's medium bodied with great carbonation. It has a dry finish. This is a very good IPA, definitely worth trying.

Pours a hazy golden color. Nice hippy and piney aroma. Nothing super tropical about this beer due to Falconer Flight hops but it has a nice smooth malty backbone that follows the hippy punch to the front of the palate. And every mans drinking IPA. Fantasticu

Yumm, like it. All the attributes I enjoy in an IPA. Hops, citrus, pine -- cannot see through its milky-orange...something. And my samples were from a bottle. Ja, good enough for me.

The beer possesses a great aroma, taste, and follow through. Best of all, it is deliciously hoppy, which I find fantastic. Just my opinion, but not everything has to be "smooth."

Rust with white film. 3.75
Lemon + Pinesol. 3.75
Hint of caramel, some juicy orange, evergreen + pine resin. 4
Medium, chewy, round. 4

What every IPA tasted like in 2011, and that was just fine. Malt tells me East Coast, but otherwise, old school citrus + pine. Easy on the IBUs + probably too big + sweet to session but I’m not complaining. 4

Poured from can into pint glass. It pours a a hazy golden-amber color with a fluffy milk-white head and extensive lacing. It features a fragrant aroma of floral hops, pine, grapefruit, and tangerine. The tastes include a nice malt base with pine, grapefruit, and just a hint of sweeter fruit. It finishes with a nice hoppy bitterness. This ale is medium-bodied, with nice carbonation and with an ABV of 6.7% you can down a couple of them. Overall, it's a solid American IPA. While it isn't at the level of the more famous examples of the style, it is well-crafted and enjoyable.

Traveling on i-95 yesterday and Pulled off to and stopped at a restaurant for lunch that had about 5 beers on tap and this was one the only things that wasn't a Bud product. Thank God! Never heard of the brewery. Very nice surprise. If I lived in the area I would have that in the fridge for just fun drinking and for drop in friends.

A: Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Body is hazy dark golden with a small off-white head.

S: Floral hops and tropical fruity hops over bready malt.

T: Bready malt foundation, then some tropical fruity hops (mango, pineapple). Then modest bitterness at the finish. Something not quite "right" in the finish, though it's hard to pin it down. A little too sweet in the aftertaste is part of it, I think.

M: Medium in heft, slightly slick in feel.

O: Meh. Not really impressed with this one.

Actually a pretty good beer. Not terrific but pretty good. The branding is super lame and I feel like a turd drinking a "hop dang diggity". Marketing here would go a long way.

Bottle. Not a fan of the name. Pours orange and somewhat hazy. Aroma is of hoppy citrus that is both candied and juiced. Flavor is the citrus with some grass and pine. Some sweetness. Has a more West Coast flavor to it but its not as abrasive. Actually this was pretty good. I was impressed.
