The Beer Hall is located off Market Street near the Civic Center. I enjoyed the fresh and modern design both from the outside and the interior. It's not a large space, so it can get crowded.

They had a L-shaped bar area along with tables and seating. They had 20 beers on tap, a nice selection of craft beers. Bottled beers were also available. They also serve wine as well.

The bartender was friendly. I enjoyed my visit. I will return since I work not too far from here when in San Francisco.

Good place to get a quality beer in the civic center lower Van Ness area, altho a bit pricey. Nice assortment of eclectic offerings, albeit not a huge number of taps so mostly in bottles. Fairly knowledgeable staff (tho the day we went the guy pouring was more into his device and buddies in the bar).

In what was formerly a craft beer dead zone area in San Francisco, owners Andrew and Jennifer Hall have developed a great beer bar with 20 rotating taps (plus 4 wine taps) and an extensive selection of bottles available for on or off-premise consumption.

Atmosphere is upscale casual with some nice accents like the copper-colored and imprinted ceilings, bottle cap wall along the back, and beeriana displays featuring some very old cans. The wood bar is gorgeous and was apparently made from a single tree sourced up in Oregon. The crowd is a mix of local professionals from the Courthouse, Twitter, and other nearby companies alongside craft beer aficionados on others who just happened to stumble upon the place.

Service is prompt and friendly. The servers are well-versed in the beers they provide and offer prompt and courteous service. I don't see any room for improvement on this front.

Great variety amongst the selections and I frequently find draft beers that I've not seen on tap at the competition. Also some of the rare bottles that tend to fly off shelves at City Beer Store or Healthy Spirits seem to linger just a little longer here.

Just steps from the Van Ness Muni station and several bus lines, it's easy to get to. Parking is a bit challenging and I wouldn't recommend driving there.

To start off, it is in SF, so it will be bit expensive. This place is relatively close to van Ness. It's on the end of Polk St. between Market and 9th and 10th streets.

When I walked in, I didn't sit down to drink something on tap; I merely went in to browse the bottle selection due to the fact that it was around 1830 on a Thursday and the venue was jampacked. The decoration is nice, but the place is kind of small and it was very loud with the amount of people in there. Nevertheless, I got some great service from the staff when choosing a bottled beer to take home and drink. In fact, the gentleman who assisted me let me taste the Kostriker before I purchased it.

I did briefly view their tap list and it didn't seem bad. Looks like they had some Belgians, some IPA, and the one I recall and will have next time I go back: Old Rasputin. I love that beer.

The prices are what they are because of the fact that Beer Hall is in San Francisco, but I will definitely return here. I want to bring a co-worker or two.

Another spot in the City for beer nerds. The bottle shop has a decent spread and is smartly laid out one bottle each on a shelf for you to browse, make a selection, and ask for someone to grab one from the back. The place is very small but aesthetically pleasing. At the bar, they have a good spread of beers at very SF prices. $8 for a 12 oz pour of a CA IPA is a little silly. Possibly the nicest bathroom anywhere near Market. Nice staff. No online information on their website, FB, or beermenus about their menu updates, so i probably won't venture there again until they do. Overall, pretty cool spot, albeit small and pricey. Close to BART and a reasonable walk to City Beer Store.
