Appearance:
Deep golden color, clear. Lots of small bubbles rising up. Thick bright white head. Leaves a nice lacing behind.

Aroma:
Piney, citrus, sweet pale malts.

Taste:
Mild hop bitterness up front, mostly citrus-pine. Bready malt that balance the beer, sweet, caramel. Bitter, crisp and dry finish. Medium bodied, smooth, sharp carbonation.

Verdict:
It's good, but not the best.

At first taste this beer is bitter, which I like. By the second sip it rolls off your tongue like its been part of your life for a while! Color is a mild copper, with little haze. A light head, with good carbonation. Smell is mild, but sour. Overall one of my favorite local IPA's.
This beer is made by Rio Grande, the same people who make Sierra Blanca and Alien Amber. Theres is now also ABQ BrewPub-which serves these brews and is another branch off.

It was a choice between this & the Pils, IPAs are harder to screw up, sooo. Cryptic (sorta) date date code of 0111 me thinks

Pours an effervescent apricot/amber with 3 fingers of pillows cream colored head. super lacing & head retention

S: Grassy, floral & bready

T: Grassy & woody hops up front, some breadyness & tangerine up front, along with some dryness. Grassy & herbal hops mix with dry biscuitty malt, some woody notes as well, a whisper of toffee as well. Finishes floral, woody with some dryness & leafy hops as well

Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, nice balance

The sum is greater than it's parts IMO, a damn sessionable AIPA IMO....

Hazy brown with a tinge of red in there, almost rusty. Some decent poofy head, some lacing. Very cloudy. Nose is hoppy and grassy, some lemony citrus stuff in there as well.

Not a whole lot of citrus in the taste; lots of bitter hops, a little malty. There's a nice breadyness in here. It's not the most flavorful IPA I've had all around- in fact, it's kind of a "safe" IPA flavor profile- but it's solid, it works.

Mouthfeel is sudsy, not too thin. Overall- a decent IPA, not outstanding, not at all bad.

12oz brown bottle with no freshness date.

Head and lacing shake hands with the head, hazed brassy amber color. Faint grapefruit and tobacco hop aromas meet a toasted bread and honey malt nose. Thick medium body with a oily resin hop mouth feel. Hops are here and an IPA it is, that resin lingers on the palate for a good while with citric rind and blond tobacco flavors. Oily hop continues on, maltiness is a bit layered with sweetness and suggestions of toasted bread. Kiss of yeast and fruity esters middle to end. Hoppy fruity finish.

Pretty good, lots of IPAs out there though. Worth a try for the true hophead / IPA hunter.

Appearance: Poured into a pint glass, rose a medium to small white head that settled into a decent lacing. Clear reddish amber colored.

Smell: Hops and a light sweet citrus aroma.

Taste: A light bitter hops, with a sweet caramel to citrus taste.

Mouth feel: Medium, decent IPA feel.

Drinkability: A little weaker than most IPA's, maybe a good IPA to start out on, but not really for hop heads.

After Taste: A light dry hops to sweet caramel after taste.

Serving type: 12 oz. Bottle

Sampler in airport

Appearance Slightly hazy, doesn't hold a head

Aroma Full hope note, a bit harsh, citrus, mostly grapefruit

Taste Bitter hops overwhelm the base, and there is a slight soapy note.

Feel Medium body, oily finish

Overall Not bad but a little one dimensional

New beer to my area, so I will give it a try. Dated 05 11 and consumed 07-01-11. I like fresh IPAs and the ones with a few weeks on them. Poured a nice dark orange copper color with a decent enough head with good lacing.

The nose is mild citrus hops, then malt backbone, then some resiny hop aroma. Pretty good just not a lot.

Taste is about what I had expected with the hops faded. Still nice with some hoppy tastes, mainly piney/resiny. Good malt backbone. Would love to try fresh as its pretty good now.

Very drinkable, not a hophead beer with six weeks old, but I can enjoy a brew like this. Not one to seek out but worthy of a visit. I will try again fresh for sure.

12 oz bottle without a freshness date. Pours a hazed amber color with an attractive, frothy cream-colored head. Retention is above average and the lacing is outstanding. A great looking beer.

Nose is piney and earthy hops with plenty of grainy malt. It could be in my head, but I smell cactus here, prickly pear to be specific...and yes, they do sell it at the local grocery stores. A little English leaning with a nice malt balance.

Earthy hops and caramel malt combine for a surprisingly decent beer. Most of the focus is on bittering hops, but there is a little bit of piney hop flavor as well. Malts play a big role in this beer and provide some sweetness. It certainly is not the best IPA out there, but this is not a bad quaff if you find yourself in New Mexico.

Light amber color with good off white head and lacing. Piney citrus aroma. Taste is hoppy reisen heavy with some citrus. Malt balances out the hops. Medium-light finish a little on the bitter side. Lacking some depth and complexity.
