This beer has an unmistakable roasted chile aroma and flavor without being too hot. The whole chile is used to infuse the beer with a mild green chile flavor and leaves you with just a hint of heat on the back end.

I tried this at Roadhouse in Worthington across from the Ice Works. It poured a clear golden with no head and no lace. The scent had hints of green chili peppers. The taste had hints of fresh green chili. While spice was noticeable it wasn't hot. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good subtle carbonation. Overall it's ok.

I'm both a beer geek and a green chile geek, so I had hopes for this. Alas, they pulled their punches on this one. The beer just doesn't have enough green chile character. It's got a little heat, but that's not the problem. Good green chile can be only mild to medium on the heat. I'd just like a more deeply flavored green chile effect.
As for the rest of the beer, it's a standard lager, basically an AAL. As those go, it's OK.

So, take a standard American macrobrew. Minus the vegetable soup/corn syrup sweetness. Add back a substantial blast of roasted peppers (more than "a hint"). but not the capsaicin -- rather, all of those other flavors around the capsaicin as you might find in, for example, roasted or grilled Hatch chiles.
The overall effect of this is a beer to be guzzled, sloshed, gulped, and savored I find it delicious, and I think, frankly, it is underrated here. A hot weather beer, mainly, this is not (for me, anyway), a one-beer affair. This is a polish-off-a-six-pack affair, and I mean that in the best possible way.
The pepper flavor in here is authentic, savory, and wonderful. There is no other beer in this class I'd rather drink. If you understand peppers enough to know there's more there than just heat, you'll appreciate this. It is not the first pepper-infused beer I have had, but it is the best.
Great for a back yard, deck, barbecuing, or tying one on on a Saturday night (hello folks).
If there is heat in here, my chilehead palate can't detect it (but I'll take your word for it.)
Delicious. Just, good-life kinda stuff.
If they run out of this at my local, I am going to downright surly.
Do not sip daintily. Drink with gusto.

A fairly clear golden with no head or lacing. The aroma is smoked or Tabasco-like, green chile. The flavor is the same and a bit of biscuit malt. The feel is well carbonated, dry, and medium thin body. Very slight, but, building spice as you continue to drink. Overall, it is what they advertise. Whether or not you like it, definitely depends on whether you like these traits combined with a slight biscuit malt.

Looks like a standard lager. Sweet malt water with a bit of green chili flavor. No spice though which is welcome. Not bad. Expected this to be terrible. It's ok.

Pours a very light clear gold with a quickly dissipating soapy white head and a load of streaming bubbles.
Smell is white bread and some vegetable matter that could be the chili peppers. Not getting a lot of chili spice on the smell.
The taste is like a standard pilsner/lager with a bit of green chili taste on the back of the taste. Again not a lot of chili heat here. The taste of the chili is like a mild green chili.
Mouth feel is very light with a crisp finish. The beer does slowly show some chili warming as it sits on the stomach and after several swallows.
This is a decent chili beer if you are looking for something with more of a mild heat. I admit the beer does have pretty good overall taste and was very easy drinking. The disappearing head was kind of disappointing especially with all of that wild carbonation shooting up. So if you are not up for something real hot and want to try a chili beer this may be a good place to start.

Poured into a small shaker pint glass. Pours a light golden amber with a fizzy half finger head that dissipates in seconds to patches. Aroma of mild sweet bready, lightly grainy malt, green pepper with a light chili hotness. Flavor is very light bready malt with a adjunct profile, with a decent chili pepper burn developing with light green pepper flavor for character. Light bodied with active carbonation. A very light beer, with the friendly, mild malt reminiscent of adjunct lagers and not much character. The chili is mild to moderate and tastes authentic in the burn and green pepper flavors. Pepper is deftly handled, but needs a more robust malt base to present it. Probably a nice light, somewhat hot beer that would taste great with a Mexican meal, but underwhelming as a stand alone ale.
