Had on tap at AC
End of year 2019
Not that tropical. A bit bitter vs lactic tartness; body seemed a fruit purée brew.
Not my idea of a Berliner Weiss.

750 mL bottle. Pours clear golden with a big white head that doesn't last. Smells of guava mostly. A little passion fruit. Mineral and wheat aroma. Tastes wheaty and lemony up front. Passion fruit sourness. Then some guava. Again, it has a mineral and almost salty flavor. Light body with very high carbonation. It's ok. Fruity but not the most interesting berliner profile. It's just fruit and carbonation.

1-liter growler poured into a matching Angry Chair snifter. The brew appears a clear yellow color with a finger of white fizzy head that quickly fades.

The smell is vinous blending to something almost like apple juice then lemony yogurt. A little bit of a tropical feel as it warms up.

The taste is tart and lemony before apple juice and a touch of cereal grain sweetness into the finish.

This is light bodied and moderately carbonated. Overall a chuggable brew but it feels more like a carbonated boxed fruit juice than berliner. Not bad...just very fruity and almost crosses the boundaries into "not even a beer" territory.

A great weisse, nice tartness, a creamy body with good, white head that sticks around. Super easy to drink and to slice against their darker beers, some lemon zest or tart apple comes and goes through the sips.

Bottle 4/27, and bottle says: ”Behold our first bottling. If You have one of these you’re one of the coolest people we know. Congrats.”

Appearance: A golden beer that is incredibly foggy. Not surprising given that it is wheat in the beer. Huge bubbles lift to the top and a large snow-white head disappears very quickly. It almost crackled on the beer and I'm getting a little affraid that I got an infected bottle.

Aroma: In the aroma I cannot feel anything that point out an infection, but it continues to crackle loudly. The aroma for me is striking of yuzu, although it should not be in the beer, and a very pleasant aroma of pineapple, grapefruit and passion fruit.

Taste: Extremely good! In the beginning, it is not unlike the old Swedish soft drink Loranga when it is far too fizzy and very juicy. Is not infected, it is just over carbonated.
The taste is like drinking tropical juice. Enormous taste of tropical fruits, yuzu, pineapple, peach and passion fruit as icing on the cake before it is slowly released in the beginning of a fruity acid to a milky acid. Tartish.

On tap at Hunahpu's Day 2014. Lightly hazy yellow color with bubbly white head. Aroma was of grassy and a little funky, with some tropical fruits. Taste was again some of the tropical fruits, light tart grapefruit, grass, and a very faint Sauv Blanc wine-like flavor. Light crisp mouthfeel from a light body, and medium carbonation.

I had this on tap at my wedding on 01.18.14. This beer was brewed with guanabana, guava and passion fruit and clocked in at 4.5%, which was a higher ABV than when i first tried this beer a few months back at a festival. reviewed from notes.

Poured on draft into a self-logo-ed snifter.

a really nice looking hazed golden color, with notes of peach skin. a large, three finger veneer-white head, which was likely the result of improper pouring from the bartender.

I must admit that ive never smelled fresh guanabana, but i suspect the delightful tropical note that comes through owes itself to that fruit. underlying are notes of pineapple, peach, and passion fruit. It also pulls through with light lactic notes, which is what i was really craving.

The palate is exceptional, with big juicy fruit notes upfront, quickly segueing into tart lactic acid. It becomes a wonderful blend of sweet fruit goodness and sour acidity; more well balanced than other examples i've had from our great state.

Mouthfeel is pretty spot on for the style. lightly dry and extremely refreshing. Just what i look for out of the Floridaweisse/Fruited Berliner style.

While i am an admitted fanboy of most of the Angry Chair beers i've tried, i believe i have given a fair and apt review. The reason i'm a fanboy is that their beer is really freaking good. This one did not disappoint. A big thanks to Ryan and Ben for making this happen. White Gravy!
