Black pour with beige head

Aroma of hazelnuts, maple, honey, and coffee.

Slight metallic presence but still has good maple, chocolate, coffee, bacon, and hazelnut floating around.

Feel is hot, boozy, and somewhat thinned out.

Overall did not like the vibe of the brewery but this beer was good.

Appearance - The beer poured deep black with a dark mocha colored head.

Smell - The nose had strong maple and cocoa notes. It was sweet but not cloying.

Taste - The beer would go great with pancakes. There was a strong maple presence, but it was not overly potent or cloying. Cocoa and light booze balanced with a soft mouthfeel, allowing the profile to linger.

Mouthfeel - There is a soft almost fluffy feel to Angry Chair stouts.

Overall - This beer belongs in an elite class.

L: pours see through black with no head. Pitch black in the glass
S: huge maple sweetness and black coffee blend. Big aroma
T: silky smooth chocolate, slight coffee and amazing maple throughout and a huge maple finish. Not overly sweet maple like most, just awesome.
F: very thick, smooth, crewy feel.

This is what I imagined Toppling Goliath Morning Delight would be like. Sweet and rich are the big descriptors here. No off flavors and nice carbonation. Color me impressed.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter

Pours deep black in color with a thin creamy khaki head that has decent retention. Aroma has a ton of maple up front, followed by herbal coffee, milk sugars and dark chocolate. Maple leads the way in flavor as well, providing a big sweetness, followed by fresh roasted coffee, chocolate, milky lactose & vanilla cream. Lingers of herbal and earthy coffee. Medium body and carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and finish. This one doesn't hold back on the maple, very good.

A 750ml bottle in a blind tasting.

It smells like a spiced, flavored stout out of the bottle. The pour confims that it is a stout or porter. A medium looking consistency. Glossy black with a frothy dark brown head with cinnamon highlights. Retention is average.

It smells very, very sweet with what appears to be vanilla, marshmallow, a bit of coffee, some chocolate, and molasses.

Wow! Flavor overload. Tons of vanilla, molasses, chocolate syrup, and where did all this roasted coffee come from? A really nice coffee in the background though that gets even stronger toward the end. A touch of spiciness, but if there are spicy peppers, the sweetness is drowning the heat. Its more of a cayene like pepper, or a strong baking spice. There is a little bit of lingering marshmallow and fudge flavor, along with a roasted ashiness.

As it warms, the sweetness has opened up into more of a maple syrup flavor, although there is still plenty of vanilla and marshmallow that starts to taste like sweetened condensed milk that you use in a homemade ice cream mix. The sublte spice I am getting may actually be from hops.

This is definitely a milk stout, which is where I was leaning initially with the strong sugars. It has a fluffy, velevety milshake like consistency, but is really medium bodied.

This is an excellent tasting beer, and I wasn't surprised at all when I saw who made it. It is super rich though and a big bottle isn’t conducive to drinking alone. I did find it interesting that the maple flavor got lost in the mix for me a little. It seems it came across more as a general sweetness. A 12oz pour is about enough for me.

L - Pitch black with half a finger of tan head

S - Absurd amount of maple along with fresh coffee, chocolate syrup, vanilla, marshmallow. Great stuff.

T - Good lord this is a breakfast fit for a king. Much more pure lactose on the taste, but that's not a point deduction, just an observation. Maple is relentless in its attack as is that marshmallow and vanilla from the aroma. Bitter iced black coffee and more Hershey's syrup round it out

F - So thick and viscous. No alcohol to be found. Leaves a residual stickiness on each sip.

O - Truly amazing. One of the best maple stouts I've had since Tree House Good Morning.

Wow! My first AC stout and it's tasty!
Popping the top released a wave of maple sweetness.
Pours black with a finger of brown head that settled into a small ring pretty quickly.
Smells of sweet maple syrup and coffee.
Taste is coffee up front followed by a roasted malt but that maple really lingers on the back end. Delicious!
Initial pour felt quite thick but as it warmed it seemed to thin out a bit.
Overall a damn tasty beer and I wish this brewery was as close to me as it is to my stepdaughter, I would be there daily.

Dark black body, one finger offwhite head, good retention. Smells of sweet maple, coffee beans, milk chocolate and lactose. It's sweet and viscous smelling, and the maple is perfect. Flavour follows, more coffee than on the nose, balancing out the maple and lactose sweetness. It's wonderful and well in the vein of Double Stack. Mouthfeel is full bodied, a bit sticky but otherwise silky smooth, delicious maple on the finish.

Black with a soft, sand-colored head that dies to next to nothing.

Smell is smokey maple, coffee, and brown sugared nuts.

Taste is pretty sweet but roasty with maple, chocolate, coffee, and baker's cocoa.

Medium-thin body, semi-dry and sticky.

This was my favorite beer while at Angry Chair. While it was already strikingly sweet, everything else was even sweeter. For how much grief certain sweet beers get, I'm surprised Angry Chair has made such a name for themselves making even sweeter concoctions than most!

Very dark beer with a light head on top. Has a strong smell of coffee, explains the name, and roasted malts. Has a strong coffee taste along with coconut.
