First thing you hear is some heavy metal music blaring out of the speakers; today was TOOL on shuffle along with a roar of heavy drinking bros. The service was prompt and the beer was amazingly made. The stouts are to die for and the menu has a slight variety of IPA's, saison, gose and a pilsner. Cool art and swag for sale on the walls and small batch barrel aged beers for sale to go. Most of the stouts aren't available for growler fills so have as many as you can handle, they often have some rare stuff on tap. The atmosphere was a bit rowdy and too annoying to stay long enough for more than 1 pint. The amount of drunk bros talking loudly over each other and slamming beers together was more like a frat party than a craft beer bar. It was very crowded and cramped but worth visiting while your in Tampa.

Very VERY picky when it comes to IPA’s. From RI. Haven’t found any great IPA’s until now. Wish I could take Space Grass home for bragging rights . LOVE

Located in the "up and coming " Seminole Heights. I think once you get past the parking it is a really interesting place. They were pretty busy at 1230 p on Friday afternoon. Tried the Red Puff Berliner Weisse and one of their Chocolate imperial stouts but I forget which. Guy i was talking to at the bar said this day was crowler release of the Peanut Banana Bread stout. Sold. Service solid. Nice hangout place

Finally made it to this highly spoken of Tampa micro brewery...smaller room, nice sturdy bar and semi friendly and non informative guy on the taps.(ok I’ll say it, guy kinda seemed like a dick). none of the pastry stouts they are known for available on the day I visited...but I did enjoy a few pours of some mighty tasty fruity/juicyish IPAs..... .pretty mellow spot, a few TVs on with sports on....crowlers available to go as well as some barley wine in large format bottles...well worth a visit....high quality brews available here....just don’t expect warm and fuzzy treatment, all the time

Dropped by this brewery during my vacation to Tampa. I was unsure about geography, but the brewery was maybe 15-20 minutes from the Tampa airport. Located off a busy street, the main entrance is in the back. When you enter, there are numerous high standing chairs and tables with unique metal designs. There is a long bar area with the same metal designed high chairs. Various pieces of art lined the walls. There are two TVs in the brewery, both were on ESPN. With a good stream of music, the bar definitely had a great neighborhood and hip feel to it.

The beers were great. I had heard this was mostly a stout place but they had a fair amount of good IPAs (though the stouts were out of this world). They had maybe 12-15 of their beers on tap. It was a pretty busy night with what seemed to be a lot of locals and regulars but the bartender was very attentive to my needs that night, especially with good explanations of the beer. An overall enjoyable night at this brewery.

If you are in Tampa, this is definitely a brewery to try out.

Finally got to stop into Angry Chair. Small spot, heavy metal, demonic vibes. Loved it. Beer quality was incredible, combats trillium for top consistency with stouts. Had a great time, got some good merch, and would love to come back when I visit again.

In an interesting part of Tampa; more of a new and up and coming vibe to it. Nice restaurants nearby. Anyway, the space is quite small. Most of the space was for the main bar with a long bar surface on the other end, and only a few tables. Selection of beers were pretty good, mostly stouts but there were some IPAs and guest taps as well. Service was solid, and they offer merchandise such as t-shirts and hats to go. Crowlers are available as well. No bottles of course, but we went in the middle of the week.

Overall not a bad spot. Limited parking but attentive staff and good beer on hand. Selection is a hard one since it's Angry Chair only. No complaints though.

I've driven by too many times to not stop here. So glad I did.
Relaxed, inviting, very chill. Feels like a neighborhood bar.
Beer wench (a compliment) is very much up-to-speed on the details of all the brews & treatments.
16 taps of wonderful.
Dog friendly, too.

When TBBW is at full steam, this cozy little taproom is a bit too tight, but otherwise, it's a pretty nice space, if only they'd free up those bar stools from being held hostage! The entrance has an awesomely weird mural, and the bar essentially runs the length of the small taproom, with a lot of open seating behind.

Staff was run ragged and keeping up like All-Stars. A moderate sized tap list with a wide assortment of beers were still flowing after a full week of insanity, including a collab and a guest brew, and those I tasted hit all the sweet concoction-inspired notes that I had been hearing about. Most of the vaunted beers here are ultra sweet, though, so if that's not your thing, you may want to temper your expectations.

This was the first place that I visited off the plane in Tampa. Took an uber straight there on the Friday before Huna day. There was a line of about a 10 people wait to get in which was expected during Tampa beer week. The place was packed and it took about 5 minutes to get a couple tasters in the beginning. There was great artwork all over the walls and lots of cool people to talk to. I tried 8 tasters while I was there and there was plenty of selections from IPA to adjunct stouts. My favorites were Woke and Rainbow Sherbet. No food so I couldn't stay very long as I got very hungry after a while. Overall a very cool place that I would love to visit again if ever in the area.

Awesome Micro Brewery located in Seminole Heights, Florida. Cool decor with tractor seats used as stools. Always good quality local beer on draft. Must stop if you are in the area and appreciate good beer.

Really cool vibe with exposed piping all throughout. All the legs of the chairs were made out of the pipes and the seats themselves were a very comfortable metal saddle. Really good quality beers overall though when I went the selection was not full. It is a bit small so it works when it is not too crowded.

The beers were all solid to very good. Can't say the same for some of the customer service. At least 2 of the guys behind the bar seemed like I was really inconveniencing them. I was even beginning to think that one of them was blind. I liked the 5 oz snifter options. Would be nice to have some bottled or canned stuff for carry out, and maybe a flight board. Definitely worth stopping for their beer.

This is stop #6 of 14 brewpubs for my wife and I on this one week vacation and pub crawl. This pub is located along a busy commercial street in an older section of town that appears to be a bit depressed economically. The pub is a small place with a long bar and three long bar tables for group seating. There are a couple TVs. The vibe seems good here just because it's small/cozy.

We chose 4 sample-sized glasses of the 15 beers that were available. It was an interesting beer list that included sours, a radler and a shandy. Several beers had flavorings brewed into the beers, so this brewer likes to experiment beyond standard styles. We enjoyed our beers and gave an overall grade of a B to them. The Awakenings a Coffee Milk Stout and the Cinna-Fionn French Toast were the notables. This is a place where I wished we could have stayed longer and tried some of the other beers, but we were on a pub crawl and had to manage our alcohol intake. After looking in a cooler that was full of 750 ml. Bottles to go that were all bottles of their Electric Chair Lemon Shandy, I wish that we had chosen that one to try. It must be a good one to be the only bottled offering. I'd put this pub on my list for a revisit when I'm in town again.

I visited this brewery with fellow BA MHorrigan. Glad he could show me around Tampa and made sure to hit this spot. Parking was very tight with a SMALL parking lot behind the brewery. Not a lot of on-street options so I imagine it is tough on a Friday evening or a bottle release event. But its worth the visit and time for sure.
Entering the bar from the back door, there is a long L shaped bar with about 15 seats. There are some stool and small table set ups on the opposite wall. The photo does the bar justice. Chalkboard with brewery offerings which include 8-10 house taps and a few guests as well. VERY cool lighting with wiring through metal plumbing and bald lightbulbs at the end of each pipe. Pretty modern decor in general with some art on the walls that apparently is made by same person who does some of the label work.
The bar was pretty sparse as it was a Sunday evening and close to closing time. The draft list has several stouts and porters with a sour and I think an IPA for balance.
Got to taste a soon to be released berliner weisse, which was probably the most lemon tart forward ive ever had! Sad I missed the bottle release by a few days, as this would be a very enjoyable beer on a hot day!
Growlers come in 32 oz or 64 oz sizes and they offer pints and also 5 oz samples, which is great as some of the beers are pretty hefty in ABV. I tried the Awakening coffee stout, cinna-fionn, and fionn during the trip and would definitely return when in Tampa again.
I will say that the chairs at the bar feature some sort of tractor seat made from metal, is this the true Angry Chair? They werent the most comfortable seat, but they work and the beers were pretty awesome as was the friendly service from I believe Justin.
This is a great spot to visit and apparently only about 1 year old. Hit it up and count yourselves lucky if you live in Tampa. A must stop if you are visiting!

A surprisingly small place, tucked away in a seemingly hipsterish neighborhood deep withing the nightmarish suburban sprawl that is Tampa. They have a tiny parking lot and lots of signs in the surrounding neighborhood streets saying no parking for Angry Chair, which is a real problem, but you can apparently park in the Ice machine parking lot across the main road. The taproom is pretty small but nicely appointed with some neat chalk portraits of different chairs, which are presumably angry. The beer selection was decent with about 10 house beers on tap when we were there and the quality is quite good, certainly in the top 5 for the Tampa Bay area. Service was good, sitting at the bar on their weird, tractor seat stools. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Tampa.

Really nice brewery. Had around 15 beers on tap. Has a small capacity which was really good. The bartenders were very informational on their beers. Very little parking, I understood "don't park on the fern" when I got there.

Small spot - seating perhaps 40 if packed - with a nice industrial vibe; cinder blocks, old metal tractor seats as bar stools, raw lightbulbs for illumination. In a neighborhood that's bustling with new development of restaurants, a bottle shop / growler fill place down the street, etc. They keep a dozen or more of their beers on tap at any time and the selection and quality are solid with the stouts / milk stouts leading the pack. Still young and developing but definitely one of the must visits for a beer trip to Tampa.

One of the owners left Cigar City Brewing and created Angry Chair Brewing. This place is great for a get together with friends. The Red Ale is superb. Hard to spot though make sure you drive slow when the GPS says you are close!

I visited twice, both during off peak hours.

I'm not familiar with the area at all, so whether the fact that the parking lot has only four spaces is really a big issue or not is something I won't comment on, other than simply noting the size.

It was relatively quiet both times I visited, which was nice. During my daylight visits it was bright inside, which I prefer to dark bars. The bartenders (one of the founders on my first visit; someone else the next) were friendly, but didn't make an active effort to engage - which for me is a plus, as I've never been a fan of (or good at) making small talk across the counter. They did happily answer any questions I had though.

I like that everything they have on tap is offered in 5oz pours as well as 12oz, and 16oz for what looked like anything under ~6-6.5%. Growler fills available on everything.

Sampled a few different offerings - some stouts and a rye pale - and was thoroughly impressed by all of them. I'll definitely be looking for these guys again next time I find myself in Tampa.

Went on a Sunday afternoon with little crowd and knowledgeable and helpful server.
Price is great with the 2 dollar 5 oz samples and I gave this place a little higher than usual mark on selection b/c this is one of the few microbreweries that I've visited that I can honestly say that their beers could compete with the big boys if they were producing on a national scale.
