Light golden and clear for the pour, a nice looking ale after a dozen or so hazy/murky offerings. Nose of piney and forest floor earthiness. Not exceptionally bitter, well into the IPA camp. Long and lingering aftertaste. Good carbonation and feel. Midrange ABV which is well in the background. Good as any, better'n some.

A-modestly clear gold, minimal head. Upgraded the rating here because of the particularly sticky lacing and carbonation streams that persisted for a remarkably long time
S-piney and tropical citrus
T-piney and tropical citrus. Above average bitter.
M-Light(+) body, above average carbonation

Six pack of cans purchased at Total Wine in Lynnwood, Washington.
Canned on 08/26/19. Poured in to a pint glass.

Look- Slightly hazy, golden orange color, modest off-white head that slowly dissipates, spotty lacing. Light carbonation streams as it sits.

Smell- Citrus (pithy grapefruit and lemon), resinous pine and dank, pineapple and peach. Spicy white pepper, earthy and floral notes.

Taste- Follows the nose for the most part, bready malts balance it out.

Feel- Medium/light bodied with a crisp dry finish. Moderate bitterness but well balanced, carbonation is on the higher side.

O- A quality old school west coast style IPA. Nothing fancy but very well constructed.

Outside seating, we paired this puppy with the fried avocado (!!!!!), this amazing West coast IPA is full on the nose with the citrus, smooth in the mouth with just the right amount of zing, not so much to make your eyes tear up. Loved this one, could do with another.

This is a really good IPA. Nothing over the top about this one, but that is what is appealing about it. Definitely a nice choice to consistently have on the shelf at a reasonable price.

i have liked the hoppy stuff from these guys best so far, and this one is sort of an instant classic for me already, a widely available, true to style west coast ipa with a big bitter C type hop profile, very northwestern to me, high alpha, and clean in the fermentation. its simple from a grain standpoint, but thats okay sometimes, just a pale barley type taste to it, a little orange hue but there is no toasted or sweeter grain character here at all, and the body seems just right, roundly medium and dry. the hops give notes of bitter orange and grapefruit, wet pine, and good weed, an oily freshness to them, and then biting bitterness on the back end, robust finish for sure, but without sacrificing the aromatic intensity of a good dry hopping either. there is a more delicate floral honey layer as this warms up a bit, and the carbonation holds well. on the north end of hop intensity and abv for the style, a sturdy beer for sure, but one that i find rather drinkable as well, great balance to it, really fresh, and with a familiar but thoroughly adored hop profile. centennial and ctz types seem obvious, ill drink my share of this one!

Vicious Mosquito recently became my go-to IPA, this from someone who beer hops with all the fidelity of Hugh Heffner, so we'll see how long it lasts. It's an IPA that doesn't beat you over the head with fruit. There are some citrusy notes but they are nestled in the background, allowing some more traditional, piney hops to come forward. This IPA is subtle in its bitterness, lingering only slightly. Hop-heads who like hop bitterness to make their tongue curl may not be too excited about this one. But for a tastey, easy to drink IPA, Vicious Mosquito is hard to beat.

served in shaker pint glass. Poured a clean, clear bright yellow color with just a thin cap of white head that had low retention, and OK lacing.

The aroma had a nice grains base supporting good citrusy hops. The flavor profile was the same, just crisper, cleaner, and better defined. The body was also crisp and clean, with a dry finish. Drinkability was very good, i could see knocking back a few more of these. Overall, a pretty nice take on the style. Nothing ground-breaking, just a well0done take on an established style. Worth trying if you see it.

A slightly chill hazed gold, Viscous Mosquito is capped with a thin and tightly together white bubbly head. It recedes into a ring with a small island and has moderate lacing.

Initial implications of mango and melon are eventually met by fast not traces of grapefruit and pine. Even harder to seek out is the sweet but lightly bready malt deep in the background.

Surprisingly, the flavor takes on the grapefruit as the front runner. The mango seems to have retreated, and the melon, pine, and sugary sweetness barely put up a fight to show their presence.

The feel is very light and crisp. It ticks and tocks from candy sweetness in the beginning, to a clean but strong bitterness in the end. Though it tingles just a bit, it still manages to seem slightly under carbonated.

I like this beer. I think it would be a great warm weather, perhaps summer beer while relaxing in a tube floating down the river. In that sense, Viscous Mosquito is wonderful, but wouldn't be my go to IPA. Cheers!

Nearly transparent golden with a thin layer of white foam that recedes quickly but leaves some decent lacing. Aroma is floral, piney, and citrus. Taste is resinous, like bitter citrus zest. Mouthfeel is creamy, with a mildly bitter finish.

L - pours a golden orange yellow with misty haze. Nothing to cloudy, but maybe a light Shenzhen haze on a good day in China.

S - malts and earth. Caramel and deep-rooted orange. Slight vanilla and oak.

T - west coast zest. Rich, fruity hop flavors and sweet malty pine. Hint of bubblegum and resinous mango. Sweet and candied, but also grassy. Balanced by numbing hoppiness.

F - one of the better parts of this brew. Thick and creamy with a vibe far stronger than the ABV suggests.

O - it's a typical west coast IPA in many ways, but feels more robust and rich. Good body and strong, commanding flavors.

Can from Pearl Street Beverage, Burlington, Vermont.
Dated 05/16/2017.
This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a sly golden bronzed slight hint of copper color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at an adequate pace. Lace was concave and somewhat filmy.
The aroma had some sweet peach/apricot smooth cleanliness rolling over some grassy to semi- piney hops. Subtle clean malt base.
The flavor seemed to nicely bring those sweet fruity hops to the malts nicely and stealthily moving into the aftertaste pretty nicely. Some piney-ness coming in slyly.
The mouthfeel was closer to light bodied with an absolutely wonderful sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Crisp bitter piney sort of finish.
Overall, pretty nicely done AIPA, I see a bunch of mixed reviews on this, but not sure what to think other than I think it's pretty well made and would be great with it's respected food.

So fresh, so well balanced, resinous, pungent... what a delight. Ipas are best enjoyed fresh and I do think that adds to the rating in this review.
Try this one as fresh as possible and it's hard to beat.

Clear golden brew with plenty of white foam. Pleasant aroma of pine with a whiff of honeysuckle. Quite bitter from the first sip. Resiny taste with a hint of malty sweetness. There is just that hint of pleasant flavors. But after that it’s all bitterness.

Actually too bitter to drink more than a few sips of. Too bad as it’s clean and well-made in every other regard. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Platypus in Bend.

Bought a 22oz bomber at New Seasons in PDX. Date on bottle is June 17/16...hope this is the bottled date, not BB....?

Poured hazy, golden color (Munich). Bit of creamy head, quickly dissipated.

Taste is dominated by bittering hops. This is the key characteristic of this beer's hops...not aroma or flavoring. For some, this might be disappointing, if you're expecting a more typical NW IPA taste profile. But I'm left marveling at the huge spectrum of tastes that this vaunted weed can deliver. This is a very different, interesting, and quite tasty beer.

22oz bottle served in a large mug. Given to me by @mr-jj. If there's a date, I don't see it. I left about 3/4" in the bottle.

Pours slightly hazy amber-yellow with a moderately large head that fades moderately quickly and leaves a thick layer of lacing. Smell is nice, orange blossoms and tropical juice.

Taste is heavy on the bitter but still with a strong citrus presence.

Mouthfeel is very dry. Overall, not bad at all.

The Hunter was gifted this beer. It was an afterthought, truly. My ex was trying to make amends. A lot of beers are compared to Pliny and, truth is, a lot of stuff brewed on the West Coast is trying to capture its essence. If I were blindfolded, I'm not sure I could discern the difference between the two. This is a magnificent beer. Simcoe hops in your face, with that creamy finish that is only rivaled by few. Just wow. Bitter, piney, citrusy, balanced. Perfect. This is a great beer!

Wow! A nice one from Oregon. God, I love Oregon. Picked up on a whim at Market of Choice in Eugene. This pours a beautiful copper color, frothy head and an abundance of piney and slightly citrusy hop aromas. Flavor is slightly aggressive (in a good way) in the pine and tropical citrus notes, but there's still a solid malt backbone yo this beauty. Finish is full enough to make me smile. Good one.

Back in PDX on tap @ Hawthorne Fred Meyer!

Pours a rich brassy copper w/ fresh, low micro head & lively carbonation from my hinge-top growler. Aroma of sticky malt & pine. Brings the big hops right before the dry, oily malt body gives way to serious hop nuance & utter bitter ruination of the palate. This is most definitely the epitome of a dry & dank IPA, & it lacks only in aroma to challenge Pallet Jack & Wanderlust for my favorite! I'm giddy when I find it!

Slightly hazed golden orange with one finger of dense white head that lasts an average amount of time but leaves a curtain of fine bubble lace on the sides. The smell is light pine citrus tropical fruit and bread crust malts.
Taste is up front hop bill but remarkably diverse flavors making for a complex flavor experience. The malts are fairly big as well which helps tame some of the pine notes that continue to build on the back and sides of the tongue. Mouth feel is medium and creamy from the plentiful carbonation. Overall a very nice effort from a local brewery that is new to me. Good job on this complex and tasty IPA.

22oz bomber bought from Roth’s Vista Market in Salem OR. $4.99 Clear golden coloured ale with a smallish bubbly white head. Huge hop aromas..the lightness of the colour fooled me !Piney, floral ..huge and fresh. Taste has the large hoppiness, but also has a creamy caramel malt backing. Nice thickish creamy mouth feel. A good IPA from a newish brewer.
