This can exploded on me very randomly downstairs in my cellar. As in - top of can blew off and I'm left with a gaping hole and half of the beer left. I'm assuming it happened about a day ago, and the flavor isn't infected, so I'm gonna make the most of it. Refrigerated after discovery and now ready for consumption..

Paid $3.29 for one can in Macon, GA.

Not much to say on the appearance except for that it's a deep chocolate brown. Not deducting points for lack of head obviously.

Aromas of coffee, coconut, chocolate covered cherry, and brown malt.

Flavor is damn good. Roasty flavors meet up with a brilliant coffee-chocolate-coconut combo. The flavors seem to arrive one by one and then spontaneously mix together on the palate. Velvety milk chocolate finish.

Feel lacking carbonation obviously but the roasty dryness and creaminess are there. Good stuff.

Overall, I wish another can would have blown instead of this one. I'm still enjoying it, and I'm sure I'd have enjoyed it even more had it been in tact. Recommended if you can get it fairly soon within canning date.

look: Very dark brown, nearly opaque. Some cola/brown highlights when held to light. Full mocha head on the pour.
smell: Lightly roasted cocoa, vanilla, and coconut.
taste: flavors mirror the nose. Near perfect blend and so crushable on a hot summer day.

This porter looks fantastic. You can smell coconut and chocolate on the surface. There's definitely chocolate on the tongue and the toasted flavor lingers pleasantly in the mouth for quite some time.

500mL bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 6.99. Bottled 2/13/17. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.

Pours like black tea and rests in the glass opaque with chestnut highlights around the edges. The two fluffy fingers of milky tan froth shrinks to a wispy surface haze with a narrow belt but no lacing.

Aromas of toasted coconut, caramel, faint vanilla and mild roast. I like how present the coconut is.

Flavors of heavily kilned malt, toasted coconut, bakers cocoa, dark fruit skins and vague vanilla milk.

Smooth but light body with some prickly carbonation. The aftertaste reminds me of burnt coconut toast.

After a couple years of enjoying Cherry Street's coconut porter on tap I was happy to see a variation bottled on the shelf. I'm not sure if this Coconut Porter is the same as what had been called Chief Sawnee's Stash that I've had on tap but it's a quite tasty and drinkable coconut porter.

Poured from the tap into a 20 mug at the Taco Mac in Atlanta. The appearance is pitch black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt. an excellent beer.

I had this on draught in a pub. It poured a dark mahogany with a fluffy, ecru-colored head and lacing. it was a very attractive pour. The smell was somewhat subdued by the temperature at which the beer was served but I smelled coffee and coconut. The taste was another story: dark, burnt coffee, freshly scooped coconut, vanilla, and roasted malt. This is one of the best coconut-flavored beers I've had. For a porter, it is medium-bodied and moderately carbonated and it has a manageable ABV of 6%. Overall, I was very pleased. I found it to be comparable as an American Porter to Oscar Blues Death by Coconut. I wish I could try this from a bottle or can at closer to room temperature. Well done!
