Granted, i've only had this beer once - but I had three in the same evening (Yeah, it's that good).

Aroma: The nose on this thing is outstanding, plain and simple coconut deliciousness straight to the nostrils.

Appearance: Pours opaque black with a nice tan/brown head.

Flavor: The flavor of this beer is tremendously sweet, which is fantastic for drinkers trying to get into darker beers. This beer has absolutely no bite, medium carbonation, and a delicious sweet coconut flavor that you'd never expect from a Porter. Personally, I am a huge fan of coconut, but I expected/wanted a bit more of roasted notes to accompany the coconut seeing as it is a Porter.

Mouthfeel: Surprisingly, Light-Medium body with low-moderate carbonation with a creamy silk mouthfeel.

Overall: A great beer, would drink again and again. Definitely a worthwhile try for it's uniqueness and drink-ability.

Got a growler from Ale Yeah! in Decatur. I saw it listed as one of the beers on tap and thought to myself "hmmm... porter? and coconut?... this could be really good" and I beelined it straight there after work because I had to try it. It didn't disappoint, but, obviously, you gotta be a fan of the coconut.

A - Dark brown, basically opaque, what I'd normally expect of a porter. Small amount of head and light lacing.

S - Malty and a distinct presence of coconut, what I expected. Maybe a little bit of chocolate.

T - It was exactly what I wanted from this beer. When people say "coconut" you might immediately think of suntan lotion or a pina colada, but it's not like that - the beer is more in line with a Mounds bar or an Almond Joy in my opinion. Malty and toasty at the front. Coconut, nuttiness, vanilla, and toffee dominate the palate. There's a very tiny bit of char/bitter chocolate at the finish. The beer is sweet and I could see how some could say it's too sweet for their taste - but I don't know how else you could pull off coconut in a beer and not have it lean towards the sweet side.

M - Smooth and well carbed but not overly carbed. Medium bodied, very drinkable.

O - This beer delivered exactly what I had hoped it would, so naturally I was not disappointed. I'd certainly drink it again, but it's not something I could drink regularly. I'd like to see them pair the coconut with a milk stout, I think that could have a fantastic outcome. A good winter beer that will remind you of palm trees and tropical places. Well done.

On tap from the brewer at the 2014 HSS Beerfest.

Clear dark brown with sticky patches of lacing.

There's a load of coconut and a bit of vanilla in this beer, giving it a very enticing aroma but leaving it with a flavor that is a touch too sweet (excepting as a dessert beer) and too dominated by coconut {but I love coconut}. Still, a very tasty and easy to drink beer, and a big beer for such a moderate ABV.

Poured from the tap into a 20 mug at the Taco Mac in Atlanta. The appearance is pitch black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt. an excellent beer.

A- black with a tan head, head was retained for a good while, but wasn't as lasting as other porters.

S- smells of chocolate, black licorice, and a good amount of fresh coconut.

T- coconut sweetness on the tip of the tongue fades into roasted flavors as it rest on the pallet.

M- creamy, but not too heavy. A very smooth carbonation profile.

O- A fantastic beer with a great coconut flavor that is both present, but not to overbearing to detract from the malty backbone of the porter itself.

look: Very dark brown, nearly opaque. Some cola/brown highlights when held to light. Full mocha head on the pour.
smell: Lightly roasted cocoa, vanilla, and coconut.
taste: flavors mirror the nose. Near perfect blend and so crushable on a hot summer day.

500mL bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 6.99. Bottled 2/13/17. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.

Pours like black tea and rests in the glass opaque with chestnut highlights around the edges. The two fluffy fingers of milky tan froth shrinks to a wispy surface haze with a narrow belt but no lacing.

Aromas of toasted coconut, caramel, faint vanilla and mild roast. I like how present the coconut is.

Flavors of heavily kilned malt, toasted coconut, bakers cocoa, dark fruit skins and vague vanilla milk.

Smooth but light body with some prickly carbonation. The aftertaste reminds me of burnt coconut toast.

After a couple years of enjoying Cherry Street's coconut porter on tap I was happy to see a variation bottled on the shelf. I'm not sure if this Coconut Porter is the same as what had been called Chief Sawnee's Stash that I've had on tap but it's a quite tasty and drinkable coconut porter.

This porter looks fantastic. You can smell coconut and chocolate on the surface. There's definitely chocolate on the tongue and the toasted flavor lingers pleasantly in the mouth for quite some time.
