A Belgian-style twist on the classic American IPA. Amarillo and Simcoe hops deliver bright and aromatic notes of citrus, flower and pine. European malts, candi sugar and Belgian esters complete this unique, complex ale. The Hop Collector has arrived and the coffers are overflowing.

A: Pours a hazy medium golden amber in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate apricot + golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy white head that slowly reduces to a couple of medium sized patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Just shy of moderate aromas of earthy, pine/resin, and citrus/grapefruit pith hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of pale + biscuit malts and moderate aromas of slightly spicy Belgian yeast.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of biscuit + pale malts with a hint of candi sugar sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of slightly spicy Belgian yeast and just shy of moderate flavors of earthy, pine/resin, and citrus/grapefruit pith hops which impart a light to moderate amount of bitterness which fades quickly leaving a lingering Belgian yeast flavor.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with just shy of moderate amounts of carbonation. Soft with a hint of dryness in the finish.
O: Enjoyable and definitely a good example of the style (Belgian IPA) with well hidden alcohol.

Appearance: Semi-clear golden amber, with a thick head of off-white suds, and lovely lace!
Aroma: Tropical, floral, citrus hops with orange, and hints of red fruits, as well.
Taste: Spices up front alongside the hops. Definitely a Belgian IPA here, as the hops are dialed up, but the Belgian candi sugar and yeasts bring out the spices and fruitiness. A really superb ale, well-done and complex. Bravo

A - Clear golden body, moderate white heat, extensive lacing.
S - Definite yeast esters of fruit, a hint of pine, earthiness.
T - Front is pine, followed quickly by pear and minerality that follows on the esters of the nose, then a close of lingering bitterness.
M - Mild carbonation and definite drying. The alcohol is well hidden.
O - Decent. Not necessarily my jam, but well-crafted.
