Our rich and caramel-forward Qualified quadrupel, with its characteristic hints of burnt sugar and dark fruit notes, is perfectly complemented by cold brew coffee beans roasted by Tinker Coffee Co. This bold and robust ale finishes with the smooth kiss of Madagascar vanilla beans.

12iz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, ring of beige head. Coffee aroma, roasty. Taste is mostly coffee too, some sweetness present, a combination of vanilla and pit fruit. Coffee dominates, though, very little of the quad appears

Quads are not very common, and adjuncted Quads are even less common. Hell, the only two I’ve had are Three Philosophers and Blood Moon Presence, with cherry and grape must, respectively. Those seem to make sense, but coffee and vanilla? It’s sounds weird in the best way possible, so I knew I had to grab this when I saw it on Tavour. Let’s get into it
Pours a murky medium brown with a finger of light tan head that fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
The coffee is very present in the nose, but it honestly sits nicely between the notes you’d expect from a Quad. I’m picking up on aromas of drip coffee, brown sugar, burnt caramel, dark cherry, molasses, dark bread, light vanilla, and red grape
It’s quite similar in taste, though with just a bit more of a bite. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting dark bread, raisin, burnt caramel, medium roast coffee, molasses, light toffee, and brown sugar. The swallow brings notes of red grape, dark cherry, drip coffee, burnt caramel, molasses, black pepper, light banana bread, and vanilla
A medium full body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a smooth and slightly creamy beer. Finishes bone dry and balanced
I kinda hate how much I enjoy this. Quad is an excellent base for these adjuncts, and while it doesn’t touch Westy 12 or anything, I find it to be better than the sum of its parts. I will order this again if it shows up on Tavour again

Opaque cloudy dark brown with a tan head. Smell has coffee and maple with vanilla and a yeast backing. Taste takes more of a coffee bean approach, then big sweetness from vanilla, brown sugar, and toffee with complimentary belgian yeast, bittersweet chocolate and a hint of underripe banana. Feel is yeast and malt waltzing together in a lighter and frothier way for style, coffee percolates very mildly. Prefer the orignal slightly

This combination was too intriguing to pass up. Coffee up front, lightly roasted but assertive. The coffee yields a bit to let nutty caramel and banana (?) have some room. Light vanilla joins in toward the end. All in all this a successful experiment, glad I got to try it.

Pours a dark brown with red tint. The small amount of head quickly dissipates. The aroma is vanilla forward, with notes of cherry, plum, raisin, and yeast. The flavor follows the nose. Vanilla bean compliments dark fruits and Belgian yeast. The consistency is a bit thin. Overall it tastes quite nice, and the vanilla takes the base beer in a different, but pleasant direction.

Poured from the 12oz can into an imperial pint.
A: The beer is a hazy brownish red color with a light tan 2 finger head that dissipated somewhat quickly.
S: Dark fruit and Belgian yeast with a vanilla aroma overhead covering everything up. Some coffee there, a roasted malt note, but oddly not the dominant note. The two characteristics - Belgian quad and coffee seem to exist separately.
T: Chocolate and vanilla latte up front, almost a chocolate milk or mocha. Then comes the Belgian yeast, which doesn't quite meld with the almost stout-like first taste. Some dark fruits underneath. Once again this seems like 2 separate beers mixed together.
Overall: An interesting experiment, but I think I would rather this be two good beers - a Belgian quad and a chocolate/coffee stout. I did like it, but I don't know if I'll pick it up again.
