16 oz. Can
CANNED ON: 12/08/21
Wish it was fresher!
Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice dark brown/black color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus tan head, which leaves a pretty nice medium-size island, and some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, hoppy, with a pretty nice chocolate/toffee, vanilla, cacao nibs, pretty nice roastyness, licorice. The taste is pretty nice malty, hoppy, with a pretty nice chocolate/toffee, vanilla, cacao nibs, pretty nice roastyness, licorice. Medium body with a pretty nice dry/bitter finish. Overall this is a pretty tasty beer.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This nice stout pours a
dark brownish black with thin dark tea highlights and a
nice head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring, light
dusty film layer, and sports some rather attractive lacing.
Nose of dark chocolate, subtle cream, moderate dark
roasted malts, and a hint of coffee. Flavors follow but
expand on the nose with a nice presentation of
dark sweet chocolate and mild vanilla amongst layers
of cream and light brulee with a light coffee note
as well as a touch of dark fruits. Nice mouth
feel; medium full body, smooth, medium light carbonation,
and a moderately sweet and balanced roasted finish.
Great little brew from a new to me brewery.
Cheers

12 oz can, canned 12/20/18. Pours dark brown with a small frothy tan head that quickly goes to a thin collar that laces the glass some.
The aroma is sweet perfumy chocolate malt with some roast.
The flavor is sweet lactose and chocolate malt with some roast in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, nice rich chocolate, but a bit too sweet.

Presentation: 12 oz. can with the canning date printed on the bottom. Served in a pint glass.
Appearance The tan colored, one and a half finger head goes away fairly quickly and leaves behind some lacing in small spots. It's a very dark brown, almost black color with some dark amber showing through on the edges when held up to light.
Smell: It's a mostly sweet smell of milk chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar and a hint of alcohol in the background.
Taste: It starts sweet with notes of milk chocolate, vanilla and raisins. It finishes with more bitter flavors of cocoa, coffee and roasted malt.
Mouthfeel: It's silky smooth and extremely creamy but it feels a bit watery with a medium to light body and low carbonation.
Overall It's a very good beer with a nice aroma and flavor. The texture is enjoyable and lighter than average (for a stout) which keeps it easy to drink. That said, it doesn't lack substance which is great.

Picked up a single from the Kings Beer & Wine cooler 1-10-19 for $2.19. Canned on 10-30-18; consumed on 4-17-19. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured black with a decent tan head with the original pour.
Nose has hints of mild roastiness and chocolate.
Taste is mild roasted malts with a nice dose of chocolate malts woven into the base. Finish has a nice touch of sweetness per the style, without being cloyingly so.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth from the lactose.
Overall a nice foreign export strength stout, would have again in the future.

Coal brown body; opaque; thin khaki colored body. Deep roasted grain aroma; baker's chocolate. Cocoa and bittersweet chocolate flavors; coffee notes; mild bitterness underneath a fairly sweet malt backbone. Heavy body; gentle coarseness on the palate counterpointed with a silky sweetness.
A relatively sweet beer with a decided grain char and chocolate character.

Poured into a snifter. Opaque brown with a modest tan head. Nice milk chocolate aroma, along with roasted grain and faint vanilla. The taste is mainly milk chocolate and vanilla, balanced with a slightly tart cherry note and faint coffee. Medium bodied with a creamy feel. Very nice.

Too sweet.

***
12/23/19 year old can:
Has a glimmer of roast I didn't find a year ago.
C+ / ABOVE AVERAGE
***
04/10/20 CAN:
Sweet and somewhat one-dimensional, lacking sufficient balancing bitterness to counter the Cacao/lactose/chocolate malt/dark malt sweetness. Imbalanced as a result.
The Colorado market already has Left Hand's Milk Stout, and this doesn't bring enough to the table to unseat that classic. Try again, Odd 13.
