IPA with vanilla and hopped with Azacca, Citra, Centennial and Mosaic. This hazy has notes of pineapple, sweet dank grass, candied papaya, mandarin orange, and creamy vanilla.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 12/01/21
Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice cloudy pale yellow color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, lime, peach, pineapple, guava, mango), some pretty nice diesel. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, lime, peach, pineapple, guava, grapefruit, mango), pretty nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty beer. Orange Julius! Addictive! MilkShake!.

Looks like a hazy NEIPA but tastes nothing like one. Tastes slightly tropical with some generic IPA notes and some pine. I can't even pick up the vanilla. Not bad by any stretch but one of my least favorite Odd13 offerings

B- / WORTHY
***
12/24/19 can:
7.0% ABV. Hops: amarillo, azacca, centennial, idaho-7. Malt: 2-row, wheat. "India Pale Ale brewed with Vanilla."
BODY: Turbid yellow-orange. Somewhat vibrant, but it's not the most lively.
AROMA: Mellow wheat and 2-row sweetness. Subdued vanilla. Floral and fruity hop aromatics with tropical leanings.
TASTE: Mellow wheat and 2-row erase any hop bitterness, but hop pungency is reduced as a result. I mainly get muted tropical fruit and generic floral notes...the Amarillo and Centennial are not well showcased. There's no pine from the Centennial and its floral flavours don't hit as hard as they do in, say, Bells' Two Hearted Ale.
The vanilla is surprisingly subtle, and feels genuine though vanilla bean itself isn't evoked per se. Not the imitation vanilla extract flavour you'd find in a subpar vanilla porter, but not the Madagascar fresh vanilla flavour you'd find a top tier vanilla bean stout.
Depth of flavour needs improvement for this to be a real contender, but it's balanced and enjoyable. ABV is well hidden and it drinks easy.
TEXTURE: Soft, smooth, wet, medium-bodied, well-carbonated. Refreshing. Has a coating but also dragging feel on the palate.
OVERALL: A forgettable IPA with a mild vanilla flavour that doesn't help set it apart as much as one might hope. Not Odd 13's strongest work...I'll enjoy the sixer but it's not a beer I'd look out for in the future.
