Historically brewed with hemp seeds, Chronic Ale has been a staple at Pizza Port for over a decade! This mellow amber ale is the most popular beer in all of our pub locations as it agrees with everyone’s palate and goes great with pizza. It was a dream come true to finally put it in a can and give people the chance to carry it with them wherever they go!

Had it at the Beer Haus in Vegas. Served on tap into their "fine" plastic cup. It was Ok, but not for $10... But hey, it's Vegas.

16oz canned 8-3-22. Opened 11-25-22.
2 finger off white head with great retention. Amber/copper body with very good clarity. Rings of lace. Very nice toasty caramel aroma with some clay and a light fruity, herbal backing. Tasty flavor similar to the aromas - faint breadiness, toasty, and caramel. Light body, medium carbonation with a quick and dry finish. Quaffable. Very Good.

Appearance: Pours a deep, amber color with a white, pillowy foam head. Fairly decent retention.
Aroma: Toasted caramel malts, Bready, yeasty, somewhat nutty. A little bit milky.
Taste: Caramel malts up front, bready in the middle with some sweet honey notes. A little bit of dark fruit and hops in the finish.
Overall: this is a pretty good Amber ale. Glad I stumbled upon this. No regerts.

Nice amber tone with a good pillowy head.
Grassy or herbal to the nose.
Big Carmel notes, also some spice to this.
Has a roasty edge to it also.
Carbonated with a medium feel, clean taste.
This is an okay amber for a single here and there.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden orange amber with a frothy khaki head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Big bready toasty malt, yeasty, faintly nutty, floral, a touch of dark fruit, and a little toffee sweetness.
T: Toasty bready malt, floral, a bit nutty, slight earthy herbal spice, dark fruit, and a little toffee sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Mellow indeed. The flavor skews a bit closer to a brown than I'd like and I wouldn't mind a bit more hop presence. That said, it's still a solid old school British inspired amber that would make a nice pub supper. Definitely better than my score would indicate.

Can drink a lot of these. Not much of a smell but it’s not bad. Not sweet. No funky after taste. Pretty nice color a little more orange than red. Full flavored.

a little old school but also pretty distinctive, always fun to drink beer from these guys. this is nutty and flavorful on the grain side by way drier than is common. i like the low alcohol content too, and for me it is defined by a pretty hop forward finish, certainly more so than many of its peers. real light color for a red type, clear too from the tap, just a short inch of white head on it, looks more mellow than it tastes, its actually quite complex. it starts slightly warming, earthy, and baked, again dry for being this malt forward, and with an almost almond note in there. the hops start on the back half, lightly weedy and sticky, but not in the red ipa range or anything, just adding some bitter orange peel and a hint of green pine to the back end, i think a neat flow though of flavors here, mild and approachable but way more evolved to me than the classic american amber. i can definitely see this as a food beer too, pizza specifically, but it seems to want that context, mexican food might play well too. i thought this was really solid, noticed the freshness which is uncommon in the style, and it has a lot of nuance. a real drinkable pint!

Look: It pours amber and clear with an off white head. Head retention is very good.
Smell: There are some caramel notes that are sweet in the aroma. It has a light spicy note.
Taste: It has caramel flavors with some spiciness to it. There are some fruity esters, but not strong enough to differentiate.
Feel: It has a medium body with a semi sweet after taste.
Overall, an easy drinking beer with simple flavors, but enjoyable.
