Swami’s IPA was first brewed in 1992 to commemorate one of our favorite local surf breaks nestled below a spiritual enlightenment temple that sits on the cliffs above. This West Coast style IPA features a timeless American hop profile of citrus and pine with a crisp balanced finish. It’s a dream come true to be able to share so many pints over time as we all evolve together. Whatever your form of meditation is, we hope that each and every sip contributes to your own self-realization…Cheers!

Look: Nearly clear yellow with a sudsy white head that billows up, settling to a lid, and leaving a nice coating of lacing behind
Aroma: I could smell it on the pour. Pink grapefruit, pine, oranges, light blueberry, lemon-lime, fruity dank, and bready malt
Taste: Starts out with a nice hit of citrus fruits that is grapefruit-forward and quickly joined by wet, sappy conifer notes that intermingle with the citrus. Some berry and dank appear in the middle before citrus and pine return for the close, along with a nice bite
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, clean, medium-high carbonation, and light to medium strength dryness on the finish
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. I believe I’d had this once or twice before but don’t remember it being this good as this is a well-made and delicious WCIPA that feels a little old-school in its makeup. A nice citrus and conifer blend and in a clean package with a nice overall feel and welcome bite. I’ll definitely grab more of this if/when I see it. Recommended

16 oz. can purchased from Westside Taphouse in West Salem Oregon.
Canned 07/06/2023.
Pours a nice clear golden coloured body with a lovely looking thick and frothy white head.
a kinda fruity semi tropical hop aroma and some basic malts. Simple.
Taste is hoppy but mellow. Getting grapefruit, then strawberries and some fresh spruce tip among other stuff. Tasty.
Mouth feel is very good well carbonated and yet smooth. Long bitter after taste which I enjoy in an IPA.
A good beer and happy to have tried it.

Swami's IPA pours a golden color with a large, long-lasting head. There isn't much on the nose, some bitterness. The flavor is bold, clean, and crisp, with nice floral bitter flavors. Good feel. Overall, just a very solid IPA.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of citrus and piney hops. Tastes of citrus and piney hops with just a bit of earthiness. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Pizza Port: Swami’s
Appearance (Look) – I know I’m repeating myself but…it is golden, clear with a bit of haze and has a soapy white head. A lot of the beers in the West Coast IPA box do look similar.
Aroma (Smell) – Light citrus and lemon
Taste – Piney, dank and lemon pith.
Mouthfeel (Feel) - Medium
Overall – Refreshingly piney and crisp

From the BA WCIPS Beer box. Canned 5/22. Pour is a light yellow amber. Aroma is subdued, with notes of citrus and some piney / yeast. Taste is clearly hops and more hops, with a prominent bitterness and a dry finish that still retains some of the bitterness. Clearly one of classic WCIPA early arrivals.
The 6.8% ABV is there, just not too noticeable.

From the WCIPA box. Pours a chill hazy golden with opulent pillowy white head. Grapefruit and citrus zest on the nose. A little grapefruit, a little earthy pine. This is a lighter one in terms of body. Very old school. Not bad but not a stand out either.

Just barely a hint of haze and small head Swami's smells of hops. The taste is right for a WCIPA. Canned 05/22/23 It's probably the best of the box so far. Has the right mouthfeel and I would likely buy this again.
