A brassy russet hue with some cloudiness and almost no head, just a thin lace of amber tinged white. A very strange nose, some cleaning solution, very savory, almost bacon like, some smoke, some licorice.

Taste is interesting and has some qualities found in the nose. Drinks much like a fortified wine with a nice smokey savory finish. Very dark ripe fruits on the tip of the tongue, some of those fortified wine notes follow, a rich deep savory pork like flavor follows along with this dry smokiness. Finishes smooth and dry, lingering sweetness on the tip of the tongue but it's balanced by the finish. No detectable alcohol heat oddly except for what on the breath when you breathe deep. A really unique and interesting beer that's well worth a try for it's complexities and waves of flavor. A nice substitute for an after dinner wine such as a port. Makes your mouth water with it's savory smokiness. Smokes not overpowering but it's definitely a major play in the beer. Full feeling in the mouth, light bristly carbonation.

Poured from a green glass bottle into glass, 12.7 fluid ounces. No bottling date information found, but batch number is '13/263'.
Murky, brown body, which is ruby red when presented to light. Thin fizzy head settles to very thin ring. No lacing. Lots of dregs left behind in the bottle after first pour. A partial glass pour back into bottle, followed by a swirl, and then a re-pour into glass captured most of the dregs into the glass. Some dregs settle to bottom of glass, and are absorbed during drinking session.
Aroma is smoke, tanned leather, savory bacon, dark fruit, brown sugar, and licorice.
Beer needs to warm some to get full spectrum of flavors. Smoke throughout, with sweet plum/raisin, just a touch of savory bacon/licorice. Smoky, savory, sweet persist in after taste.
Medium full mouth feel, syrupy. No alcohol heat detected. Quite spicy on tongue.
A beer that can be a substitute for a port or a dry after dinner wine. Very different beer experience.

Sampled from the guest tap at the Bull & Bush pub near Denver.

Viewed in the dimly lit main room of the pub, the body appeared light brown and hazy with a thin, fizzy head. Mild smoke and brown sugar scents exude from the glass. The flavor is dense with rich, dark malt sweetness offset with a charred wood smokiness; licorice. Medium bodied with a combination sweet/dry finish.

A nice smoke character throughout although it seems a tad overly sweet. Regardless, this is a fine beer. It's not something I expected from Spain, but then again, the beer world can be full of pleasant surprises...

Poured a blondish body with minimal head and lace.
Aroma is boozy and spicy with touches of citric and tropical fruits and not much in terms of smoke (this will not be confused with a german rauchbier).
Beer is smooth, medium-bodied, has a fruity taste that gives off some sweetness and then there is a slight smokey edge that gives off a dry finish as well as adds balance to the beer.
An interesting beer b/c it's not a traditional smoke beer b/c the smoke/heat (and I must admit the ABV is well-hidden) does not overpower the other charateristics of the beer.

A slow gusher at cellar temps so watch out.

It pours what looks to be a cloudy dark brown. +1 finger head of off white foam, really nice level of lacing.

It has a real fireplace like smell of smoke, perhaps mixed with some BBQ meats.

The smoke in the taste is like no other I've had. Super strong charred wood, and I think they left the paint on cuz I sure get a very chemical thing going on.

Medium body, pretty heavy handed with the carbonation, and the alcohol is out of control for me.

Okay, my first drain pour of 2015. :^(

Pours very dark turbid ruddy brown (srm 29-31). A short rocky dark head yields to a thin viscous film on a B.United teku glass.

A smoky background provides counterpoint for plum, prune and fig aromas. Meanwhile sweet brown sugar and molasses mingle with charred malt and mild soapiness.

The flavor opens with dark fruits and somewhat balanced bitter sweetness. Both are well controlled, unlike the long boozy finish that dries out with time. Warmth draws out licorice and sweetness.

The body is full and syrupy dense with a hard/soft texture. ABV is well below expectations. Carbonation is modest.

This beer would make for a decent digestive after dinner or possibly with a cigar. I enjoyed mine while sitting outside on a cool, cloudy early Spring day watching a puppy play with sticks. Not a bad way to relax in the evening.
