look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 2.75 | feel: 3.25 | overall: 3

Poured into a sniftner, this brew pours a dark mahogany, not as dark as a real RIS should be, with a very thin, tan head.

The aroma smells like an RIS, sweet, malty, notes of molasses. As it warms theres a bit of an alcohol smell.

The flavor is kind of rough, I was expecting a smooth, sweet RIS, with notes of chocolate and coffee (like the description says), instead its like a thicker, heavily roasted porter. Way to roasty on the back of the pallet to be an RIS, and no sweet notes at all.

The mouth feel is way to thin to be an RIS. I would compare it to a porter. For reference, Ballast Point Victory at Sea is thicker.

Overall, not really an RIS here. Definitely missing sweet tones, thickness, and lacking on the appearance.
