A of G 2022, poured from can to pint glass. Nice caramel brown color with thin light tan head. Bready Belgian notes on the nose, a bit of caramel and slight dark fruit nose. Very well balanced taste, not too forward, not one to linger on the back of the tongue. Belgian notes are more than the stout notes, with the spice and breadiness more evident than any full/heaviness or even malt/cocoa/coffee notes of a stout. 10.6 listed ABV is not in your face but does boomerang a bit and hit later. An very enjoyable combination, Frank Costanza would approve.

Released 12/2/22; drank 2/4/23 @ Pierce Cooperage.
Brown/orange appearance.
Small tan head; almost no lace.
Apple cider, caramel & faint allspice notes in the nose.
Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Mild, indeed, but pleasant.

Semi translucent mahogany brown. Ridiculous head im waiting minutes for to dissipate. Frothy though, I give it that
Smell is mild. I got a lot of belgiam Ester while pouring but not a lot comes through while in the glass.
Taste is sweet. I think too sweet. Im not sure I'm going to be able to get past this aspect and drink very much of this beer.

2016 vintage. Poured from a bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Inky black pour with massive creamy mocha colored head. It lasts forever and leaves a big ring of lacing.
S: Somewhat light on the nose. Expected roasted grains and cocoa. Some yeast character.
T.F: Sweet milk chocolate up front. Burned sugars and roasted grains. More cocoa... light espresso, Belgian yeast, and candy. Malt and a little spice. Medium bodied... super creamy. Overcarbonated... with minimal bitterness. More chocolate and yeast to finish.
O: An interesting and tasty stout. The Belgian yeast works well with it and this held up super well in the cellar. A bit overcarbonated and could have used some balance to the sweetness but overall well done.

2021 vintage. 16oz can poured into a tulip.
Pours almost black; slightly murky; small light khaki head that fades leaving decent retention and lacing.
The aromas have some banana and bubblegum along with some cocoa. Yeasts and malts are there.
The flavors are rich. There's a decent amount of Belgian candi sugar giving this one an enjoyable sticky sweetness. Slightly syrupy. Lower bitterness. Milk chocolate comes through. More banana and bubblegum. Yeasts do their thing. Solid malt backbone. Mild warmth in the finish, but the alcohol is ultimately well hidden.
Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, smooth, slightly creamy and slightly velvety.
This is a nice "Belgian stout". They nailed the stout and Belgian characteristics. There's a really nice sweetness to this one as well. The craftsmanship is on point. I really like it. It's enjoyable and fun to drink. Well done.

2015 bottle - roasty malt and cocoa notes with a bit of nutty creaminess to round out the body, there's a touch of spice or tartness in the mouthfeel that must be from the Belgian yeast. Wonder how this may have been in a fresh batch vs this cellared tasting - definitely a solid brew for the flavor profile and hints of uniqueness

Grievances is a one of kind stout. It has all the wild yeast of a Belgian with the dark profile of a stout. It is very tangy and has a lot of competing flavors. Not the best offering from UA but definitely worth a try as it is very unique.

Two different yeasts were used in this beer, cool idea, let's run with this, into a tulip, it pours. The appearance was a nice dark brown close to black color with a nice little eggshell white semi-foamy head softly dissipating. Some messy lace here and there.
The aroma had an absolutely stunning meshing of hazelnut, cocoa powder, an ever so slight whiff of peanut butter, Belgian cream, dark chocolate, dark toast, milk chocolate and some wafer sweetness. Super subtle whiff of dark fruits.
The flavor takes all of those prior mentioned aromas to blend sweetly with an eloquent dry toasty to nutty and cocoa powdery smooth Belgian sweet sensation. Superb aftertaste of Belgian throaty nutty to toasty tones.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation with some nice mobile dryness along my tongue. Finishes with some crisp wafer sweetness with Belgian notes.
Overall, what an absolutely amazing beer! Belgian imperial stout, I'd definitely say yes!

2018 version, poured into a snifter. Pours a deep dark brown color with a thick and long-lasting tan head. Interesting aroma with Belgian esters mixed with chocolate and floral hops. Cherries and plums in particular. The taste followed. I loved the creamy, chocolatey base beer, and the Belgian yeast delivered a layer of fruitiness that played well in this case. Somewhat dry on the finish but not overly so. Overall a very enjoyable beer.
