A blood-red American twist to the classic Belgian Golden Ale. We crafted two versions, both using generous amounts of American hops. After tasting this pair of ales you'll truly know the meaning of Bloodthirst.

Big and billowy white porous merengue head. Color is guava pastel. Carbonation lively. Froth is tasty of Belgium hard candy like cotton candy. Very sticky lacing.

Aroma is powerful of candied pitted fruit. Yeast aromas with mild hop.

Very sweet in a syrupy way. Yeast complexion and caramel malts. Delicate hop sensation on the tongue. Alcohol recognized, warming and welcomed.

Medium body and taste is just as powerful as the aroma.

Delicious strong ale but maybe toot sweet for me maybe some really dig that aspect. I could only handle one pour. Style executed quite fashionable. Big bottle that should be shared.

The color was a rusty red almost auburn with a tall head of strong foam.

The nose is malty and spicy, with cinnamon, anise and some dark dried fruit.

The flavors are sweet with caramel and toffee and a bit spicy with cinnamon and maybe even nutmeg. I tasted pound cake and cinnamon coffee cake which was a new experience.

The feel was tangy and a bit astringent with a some alcohol heat but a decent amount of thickness.

I personally did not find this cloying, though others around me did. Instead I found this to be an exceptional after dinner aperitif beer.

Pours a nice clear red with a huge tan head. There are a lot of bubbles coming up from the bottle of the glass, and the head seem to be in no hurry to dissipate.

There's a lot going on with the smell here. Some of what I am picking up and a malty sweetness, brown sugar, lemon, banana, and pepper.

Starts out a bit fruity, then pine notes from the hops quickly enter the picture, keeping things from getting too sweet. I am also picking up flavors of orange and pepper, the aftertaste is a bit bitter with a good bit of alcohol warming. Can't really taste the alcohol, but the burn lets you know this is a high abv beer. As it warms, picking up some Belgian candy sugar flavor.

Good feel, no complaints here.

This is an interesting beer, not sure I'd call it a BSPA. It almost tastes like a hopped up fruit beer, as fruit and pine notes from the hops are the dominant flavors. It does have a bit of a Belgian character, mainly the candy sugar and pepper notes. Overall a somewhat unique beer that is worth checking out if you want something different, If you like sweeter beers, give this one a try.
