12oz can, served in a willi becher glass. Pours a darker caramel and copper body, one finger white head, good retention, lots of lacing. Smell is caramel, floral, light marmalade, grainy biscuit, touch of honey, a bit of pine as well. Flavour follows, clean grainy malt, caramel, floral notes, a bit of pine resin on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium lighter bodied, good carbonation, slightly dry but refreshing nonetheless. Solid English IPA, but nothing spectacular.

Nice caramel finish. Not a big nose, but caramel smell as well. Bitterness is rounded out by the caramel and cigar after taste. Quite nice!

Nice murky copper gold color with a tight white head. Mild citrus aroma with hints of sweet malt. Taste is pretty malty with light citrus hop touch. Reminds me of the old days before IPAs became true hop bombs. A well-balanced beer that you might use to convert your hop-phobic friends to IPAs.

Review from BeerAdvocate magazine issue #111
(APR 2016)

Tea, Bready, Crisp, Nutty
So we’ve got a bit of a departure from the usual with Temperance Beer Co.’s English-style IPA. The hop flavors bring back memories of simpler times when tradition, balance and drinkability ruled the land. There is also that touch of sweetness—yes you can actually taste malt here and it's wonderful. The hopping is herbal, grassy and slightly puckering. Nearly dry in the finish. Gatecrasher is a real treat and I barely noticed that it was a bit bigger than the usual English IPA. [Jason]
