Poured from a can into an Imperial Pint.

This beer came highly recommended by Geno, of Geno's Fine Wine and Spirits in Elgin, IL (dont let the name, or the appearance fool you, this is a serious craft beer store) I managed to pick up a six pack for the fourth of July weekend to give Temperance a shot.

A: Pours a hazy copper with golden accents. Lets plenty of light through, but is hazy enough to prevent a 'look through'. One finger of pillowy, creamy, off white head with zero pitting. Slowly fades to a thin cap leaving soft lacing along the way.

S: Mild, soft hops, piney, citrus peel, ruby grapefruit, with a mellow malt underlay. Aromas mesh very well with one another.

T: Once again, very mild and smooth. Piney hops that don't wreck your palate, but present enough to let you know you are drinking a IPA. Closely followed by sweet bready malt. Nothing to crazy here, just a very balanced, refreshing taste.

M: Easy carbonation, medium body... very APA like, leaves a nice thin coating over the tongue. Finishes with a lingering sweet and dry sensation.

O: Quite pleasantly surprised. This is a very good beer, one which I would most certainly drink again. Nothing extraordinary, but a very flavorful, balanced, enjoyable beer. Kudos.

The GateCrasher is a decent IPA from Evanston, IL...certainly better than the Football teams...all Big Ten fans....can yuk yuk that up...yes poor attempt at some humor...Go Bucks...beat Blue. Anyhoo...the beer poured a cloudy copper/orange with thin white head that is leaving a lace. The scent carries almost an amber like malt aroma with some bitter hops. The taste has some bitter hops upfront but almost a burnt bagel on the back. The mouthfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall its a decent beer....I prefer American IPA with citrus and pine....this is an English style so it snot in my wheel house.

Pours a golden yellow with a light orange hue and slightly chill hazed with a fluffy finger of straight white foam.

Bready and biscuity malt aroma, slightly spicy and earthy noble hops, and slight lemony citrus notes.

Lemongrass, very mild spciy/herbal hop bitterness, biscuity, and bready sweet malts.

Light-bodied, medium carbonation, soft, crisp, slightly sweet, bitter dry finish.

Overall, a rather pleasing and well balanced beer.

Served in a footed tulip glass (Temperance), quick review from notes.

Hazy and saturated orange body, slim cap of parchment tone foam. Lots of lacing and a lasting head that eventually breaks apart after the first few sips. Tiny trails of carbonation build and release around the edges.

Aroma is reserved, slightly yeasty with some light fruity apricot and citrus peel impressions.

Taste is pleasantly malty without overbearing hop character, though the fruity hop notes appear again as a nice accent. The body is medium and has a nice creamy texture to it. Overall it was a good English IPA, would drink again.
