2014 vintage; drank 6/5/16 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance; champagne bubbles throughout.
A rough pour yielded a nice tan head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.
Dry oak, cherry & mild vanilla notes in the nose.
Smooth, thick mouthfeel.
Dry oak & sweet cherry flavors up front; mild bourbon & vanilla notes on the finish.
Sweet, yet balanced by the oak dryness; this is easy to drink yet substantial. A welcome addition to the barrel aged stout cannon.

From bottle into mini snifter. Nice barrel presence and a really solid taste. But mouth-feel was too light for a BA stout.

22 ounce bomber into a snifter.
Pours very dark brown, small head, little lacing. Looks good. Smells of rye whiskey and vermouth. A fairly strong whiskey taste, also rye, pretty boozy. A lot of roasted malts. Good body, coats the tongue.
I liked this beer a lot. It's a little different taste profile, but it's no gimmick- a well balanced, complex beer. Very enjoyable.

Amazing smell! Notes of sweet vermouth, booze, and cherry. An interesting take on a BA imperial stout, hope we see more beers getting the same treatment.
