Good location near the ballpark. It's a bit small but has a small patio. BBQ looks good but it's been sold out when we've been there. The rest of the food is good. A bit loud and slow but nice place to sit and sip a beer. Good beer selection, but nothing outstanding. It's a fun place to relax, enjoy a couple beers and some good food.

A favorite place to relax. Laid back atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, and a decent (if not overwhelming) selection of some very tasty brews. I especially appreciate their working to craft locally significant varieties.

***Updating some of the scores here*** I feel they have cleaned up some of the issues over the years. The Vienna Lager, Common Sense, IPA and Wit are all very good. The corner bar vibe is still second to none, which I like much more than the warehouse or industrial vibe that a lot of breweries have, and they have a full kitchen now. A place I would hangout at a lot if I lived in the area.

Original Review...
I love the vibe here. In an old brick building that they refurbished and brought back to life, just outside of downtown, and within ear shot (maybe a Stones Throw, cha cha) from other breweries in the area. A small bar, with a few tables scattered, and a patio outside. A quite space with more of a corner pub feel than the loud and sometimes industrial spaces others new breweries tend to be.

They had about 13 beers on tap. Like Rebel Kettle, some were to gimmicky for me. Like a Randelled IPA through basically a fruit salad. There was a collaboration sour with Vino's, a California Common...which was my favorite of the night. There are a handful of Nitro beers on as well. I found it a little annoying that they did not advertise which ones where however. When I ordered the Pecan Brown, and noticed it was on Nitro, and they had no CO2 version, I was a little disappointed. Not a big deal though.

Service here is incredibly personable and fun. They know the beers and styles as well. The bar has a few small bites, like a totally legitimate pickles, meat, and cheese plate. As well as food trucks out back. They also give discounts on pints to people that walk or ride bikes. Again, like Rebel Kettle, a good if not exceptional brewery. A place I will try to visit more when I get a chance, and update then.

Kudos to these folks. Thanks at least in part to their vision, this area of LR is now home to several brew pubs.

With all due respect to some of the reviews that are less flattering, I really like this place. I get what people say about parking, but come on. That is what one expects in any downtown areas, right? It is a bit frustrating that the lot right behind the brewery can't be used, but we certainly didn't have any trouble finding nearby parking. In some ways I guess maybe that's why they don't open until 4:00, which seems a bit late to me, but oh well.

As for the area, no it isn't Chenal, or Hillcrest, or The Heights, but I wouldn't call it sketchy. They've taken over a building in an area of town that was once forgotten. But now downtown LR is experiencing a resurgence. Awesome! Again, thanks to businesses like Stone's Throw for taking a chance. I will continue to support them because of this.

The food trucks that serve are usually outstanding. The soul food group is very group, as well as the Alaskan dumpling group. I can't speak to the others.

For those who haven't been back in some time, they did just expand. I would estimate that seating space doubled. It's a bit of a funky layout, especially getting to the patio but funky isn't bad. In fact, I kind of like the feel of it.

Finally, the beer. I've tried several, and I can't complain about any. Moreover, most I've had were quite enjoyable. The selection is diverse, and most of the more popular styles are represented.

Really like this low-key corner spot, seems like it might lead the way to some improvements in the area. They generally have food trucks parked outside, which lends itself to the neighborhood quality and usually provides awesome food choices. It's small inside, with just a few tables and seats at the bar, but people always make room for you to get in and order. If you do snag a table, they have board games and cards available for your group.
The beers are kind of hit or miss, some signs that they might be new at brewing on the larger scale, but there are some definite winners in the bunch. They always have a ton of different options available as well.
Service is always friendly and helpful, with mostly the same faces every time we go in. They know their products and can talk about them easily, which is a plus for a small up and coming brewery.

I went to Stone's Throw with my younger brother and my mom, as we all thoroughly enjoy craft beer and supporting local business.

It is an unassuming little place on the corner in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood, so it was a bit hard to find. Parking was sparse, but we only ended up walking a couple hundred yards. No big deal. The first thing I noticed when we walked in is that the place is pretty small, which is what I expected from a newly-opened brewery. If I remember correctly, there were about three four-top tables, maybe three more two-tops, and 6-8 seats at the bar. We actually had to enjoy our first pint standing until a table opened up. Pretty cozy, but I was glad to see it was busy.

The chalkboard over the taps showed four house beers and four guest taps. It wasn't the typical amber, porter/stout, IPA, hefe safe list that you might expect from a new place. Instead there was a dunkelweizen, a stout, a Belgian IPA, and a Patersbier. We ended up trying everything but the dunkel, and all were very tasty. The Amer-Belge IPA was actually outstanding, world class even. The taplist also noted that they run beer through the Randall on Saturdays. I missed out on that.

I didn't try any of the deli, cheese, or pickle trays offered, so I can't review those. They don't have a full kitchen, but local food trucks park right outside the front door on a rotating basis. We ended up having some serious tacos al pastor (I've lived on the border for over a decade, I know tacos.)

I'm really expecting big things from Stone's Throw, and I'm glad the AR craft scene is coming up. I highly recommend

Decided to try this place out on a Friday afternoon. Hmmm, not open until 4? How does any place in this city make any money with hours like this? Some people would like a craft beer before dinner... So I wait on the street, because there is no parking for this place. Sketchy neighborhood, two homeless folk hit me up for change but they are friendly at least. Doors finally open at 4:05, no "hello" or "how can I help you?", just suspicious glance. The place is small, maybe 800sft at best, clean, nicely decorated with beer paraphernalia, kinda funky vibe just a real bad location. 8 taps, 6 STB brews with 2 guest taps. Decent lineup of flagships with a Belgian theme. They only fill their own growlers, like everywhere in this beer wasteland of a state, so leave yours at home. A 32oz of rye in a plastic milk jug growler- $18, ouch. Overall not horrible, but not a place I'll waste my time trying to accommodate their schedule or risk a vehicle B&E over for, unless they start churning out stellar brews and the neighborhood gets better.
