A great bar with plenty of outdoor seating that was great both times I visited whilst in Brussels recently. The place had about 12 taps of Belgian beers (and probably countless bottles but I stuck with the tap) and was reasonable priced too. Had a couple of beers that I never saw anywhere else on tap which was nice and everything I tried was excellent. I'll likely be back the next time I find myself in Brussels.

Stopped here accidentally, but will definitely be back. This is on a busy corner, not far from Moeder. The beer list here is fantastic, and the prices are excellent. They have Cantillon and a number of other non-lambic beers from Belgium. I like this place because you can get anything from an Ardenne Stout to lambic. Glassware is great, and the seating is perfect. I will be back.

Failing to find Moeder Lambic I started back to my hotel and happened across Brasserie du Lombard. What a delightful surprise! Outstanding beer list, all in proper glasses as far as I could see, great old decor. The Flemish beef stew was quite good. The bar maid was delightful; the server might have been having a bad day, so mixed reviews on service.

Brasserie du Lombard is located on a corner, three blocks down a side street from Moeder Lambic Fontainas, which is probably the reason it hasn't been listed until now. BA's making a single-minded beeline for Moeder have little interest in exploring other options in that area, which is a shame because this place deserves recognition. It's just enough off the tourist routes to avoid the hordes around the Grand Place and Mannekin Pis, which means most of it's customers are Belgians.
They come to enjoy one of the better beer lists in Brussels, with ten draught and 186 bottled beers offered. There are a good number of interesting choices that won't be found at many other cafes like La Trappe Oak Aged Quadrupel, Chimay Cent Cinquante, and Malheur Brut. Inside, the atmosphere is old and comfortable - Brasserie du Lombard has been here quite awhile. Outside seating is plentiful and enjoyable due to moderate street and pedestrian traffic.

I highly recommend spending some time here, before or after Moeder Lambic. It's a perfect café if you want a more substantial meal than what's offered by Moeder, along with a great beer. Meals are reasonably priced for Brussels.
