Russian Imperial stout bursting with chocolate and coffee including Papa New Guinea cacao nibs and a subtle heat from the addition of AZ grown peppers.

Pours dark with minimal head. Smells of roasted malt and coco nibs. Taste is rich and delicious. Very smooth for 11%. Got the beer at the tap room and ended up ordering two without asking the price. Two 10oz pours cost me $20 which is fairly ridiculous, but I won't hold it against them for this review. It was an absolutely excellent Imperial Stout just next time I may stick to one.

Different than the barrel aged version but nearly just as good IMO. Great beer!

Appearance: Pours espresso colored with a one finger ecru head; decent retention with a splash of lacing that looks like a fireworks display

Smell: Distinctive hot pepper tones that complement the chocolate, dark bread and coffee elements

Taste: Sweet dark chocolate, on the tip of the tongue, with an aggressive push forward from the hot peppers; dark bread malts underneath; the finish brings forward the coffee aspect

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; heat from the peppers

Overall: One of the more pungent chili-infused stouts I have tasted but that makes it distinctive in a southwest sort of way

Thanks, kevindp9, for the opportunity

Can: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of black cholate notes with light chile notes are quite interesting. Taste is also a mix of black chocolate notes, roasted malt with some light chile notes with light residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Solid imperial stout and jalapenos are very well balanced.

Enjoyed at the Copenhagen Beer Festival. Reviewed from notes.

A - Poured a nice dark brown almost black with a thin light head.

S - Aromas of nice coffee, little bit of roast, and some good pepper spice.

T- Taste is similar to the nose, just more subtle peppers. The coffee is decent, chocolate is a bit on the lighter side.

M - Mouthfeel is a bit lightly carbonated, body comes across as thin.

O - Overall this was an average stout. The pepper was a fun additive I just wish there was more to it.
