Somewhat industrial chic, its an old building by the railroad tracks thats been given new life by the brewery. Lost of pleasant outdoor space, the interior is comfortable enough if a little generic. Pretty solid beer, though the selection is a bit weak with only 6 beers on tap and a couple of bottles available to go only (seems like they might have had one or two more on a good day, but no more). Good service and it wasn't crowded. A worthwhile stop, but not something I'd go out of my way for.

Fantastic service!!! Small quiet place away from the noise and crowds of Beale St. Inside very modern but a little small. The outside patio is where you want to be though.

Great beer, great service, and a nice vibe. Think it a must visit while in Memphis. Very impressed with this brewery. Has some cans and bottles to go that are not on tap. Great food truck.

Awesome time. My wife and I really enjoyed the brewery. We had been traveling around TN and stopped at wise acre per a liquor store worker recommendation. Wow, what a treat. Everything we had was great. High quality beer, high quality environment, high quality bottle/poster design, and mostly high quality staff. One bartender was awesome; she was a brewers wife and talked to us for a while. I complimented another worker about the beer and the environment and instead of responding to me told me my bill. Don't let that guy fool you, that was one minute of our experience out of an hour and a half. Great place and great beer.

Loved this place the moment I stepped foot inside it! Took the tour and have been hooked ever since. I try to come at least once a month, usually on a Saturday evening. Can't beat the music or the beer selection for such a new brewery. Lots of patio space, well designed steel decor and urban feel. Several beers will disappear within a few weeks and are replaced often. The burbon aged brews are delicious and if you enjoy a good stout, this is the place to come! Typically around 10-12 selections on tap. You can buy growlers here and take home 6 packs of some others but you can't open them on site, those are to take home. Some beers cannot be put in growlers due to limited amounts, on tap only. Staff is well informed and they move fairly quickly. Even on a busy Saturday night you won't wait long, if at all, to get your beer. Only negative is that it's only open 3 days a week (Thur-Sat) and they close by 9pm (I'm guessing so the people working can still go out?). Don't miss this place!

I've only visited a handful of breweries/tap rooms, but Wiseacre is near the top for me. Friendly staff, great beer selection, and a food truck outside. I visited for the release of their barrel aged stout Astronaut Status and really enjoyed the atmosphere and company of complete strangers. Best of all, it's only an hour away from my house. These guys are doing it right. Stop by if you're traveling through Memphis, you won't regret it!

Very nice taproom with a good variety of brews both on tap to go. Their offerings rotate regularly so there little chance to get bored. It's in a small industrial area off a street that mainly has retail shops but it's got a great vibe and is good for people watching.

Went here last Saturday. The building is deceiving on the exterior. It is a black warehouse facility 50 feet from the railroad tracks. Entrance is in the back. There is a nice deck out back and they had a food truck the day we went. The interior is really nice. Not what I expected from the exterior. Lots of stainless steel and unfinished wood. The bar is long and there is alot to offer. The day we went they had 10 beers on tap. The bar offers tasters, pints and growlers. All of the beers were average except for the Avast! Pirate Porter. This beer is different than anything that I have had before....it has allspice and orange peel in it. The 4 IPAs on tap were good but not great. They were bitter but left something to be desired in flavor and aroma. The best was the session IPA. Overall a great place to go and have a few beers. In the growing craft brewery market, you have to differentiate yourself and this is where they fall down. Hopefully they will improve their beers as they brew more.

Going into my trip to Memphis this was the only beer place I HAD to stop at, based on reviews here on BA & yelp. Glad we did. Got there right at 4pm when they open. They had a food truck outside and they have a shithole for a parking lot. Pave the sumbitch!

Cool, chill décor insight, the brewery is visible. I like they spin vinyl. We ordered a sample of every beer and the bartender “put them in order” for us. He didn’t but since my wife and I know beer were rearranged them appropriately. Having them out of order for a beer newbie is not good. Come on man!

As for the beer, all but the saison were at least a solid B. The bitter, spiced porter & hoppy red were solid As. No issues with the beers, a very good brewery.

Tip: no cash

I really enjoyed my stay at Wiseacre. I would totally re-visit and kind of wish I had more time in Memphis on my stay to go again.

A must visit for any BA.

First off, this is a cash free zone, bring your credit/debit card. Second, this place has been packed every single time I've been, I really wish they would open more days to maybe alleviate the problem.

The head brewer is a super cool dude, and the staff was helps fairly well, I knocked off a little on that score because they lost my CC for about 20 minutes and that was frustrating. They have a food truck outside, but I usually eat in the area (Boscos or Central BBQ).

As far as the beer goes, I really think this is a top notch brewery and possibly the best one in TN. Everything I have tried has exceeded my expectations. They have a nice rotation going on so there is always something new to try everytime I go, which is about once a month as I live 2 hours away. It's nice to have a TN brewery that always has some high gravity beers available. Good luck to these guys, hope they continue what they have started.

What a great addition to the growing Memphis beer scene.

With a beautifully crafted reclaimed-wood tasting room, a private party room, and a back deck, you and your friends can enjoy full pints or tasters in the way that best suits your needs for privacy or inclusion.

Solidly constructed beers, some of which are canned or bottled and sold regionally, cover the range of standard ABV and high gravity you'd expect from a microbrewery, but with some additional unique barrel aged beers promised for future release.

Saturdays and beer release days can get pretty packed, but overflow onto the back deck helps relieve some of the pressure.

The bar is a CARD ONLY facility which is incapable of accepting cash and uses two iPads for quick cash out and tipping. A food truck seems to always be on site, previously serving seafood/Po Boys and more recently switching over to a local BBQ truck... when in Memphis, right?

Overall a very comfortable, fun location with solid beer choices and a lively crowd. So glad to work 1/2 mile from here.

Nice to finally have a tap room in Memphis. Now I'm just waiting on Memphis Made to open one also. I've been to the brewery twice so far. Once in the fall and just this weekend for the tapping of Snowbeard Barleywine. Great set up and atmosphere. Was a little noisy for the tapping as they had Karaoke set up. Not sure if that is a regular event. There are food trucks outside. I have seen organic sausages and a shrimp poboy truck on the two times I have been. Would definitely recommend for someone trying to enjoy some of Memphis' lackluster craft brew scene.

Went to the brewery/taproom for the first time this past weekend. Its so nice to finally have a brewery with a taproom in Memphis. I had a blast and I am really impressed with the beer that Wiseacre has put out so far. Can't wait to see what they produce in the future. I had tried their Tiny Bomb and Ananda before coming to the brewery and while I was there I tried their Holy Candy, Freak Nast and Gotta Get Up To Get Down. All are real good but out of the three that I tried that day the Holy Candy was my favorite. The taproom has a lot of tables in the common area and you can look in to the brewing area. The have a deck on the backside of the building. They had a food truck outside but I didn't get anything.

Finally got to get in here to try out Wiseacre and man I'm glad this place is only an hour away from my house , I wish it was a next door but hey its still pretty close.

You drive around to the back of the brewery when you arrive and there is their patio and tap room.

The tap room is well put together , lots of reclaimed materials used and a clear wall of doors and windows looking into the brewery

I had a sampler of the five beers they had on tap and loved each one I had , my favorite was the Tiny Bomb and the Ananda , the brothers who own and run the place were behind the bar serving up the beer and Davin stop and took the time stop and talk about the beers

Im super excited about this place and am looking forward trying more of their beers
